The 2-0 Yotes take a big step up in competition tonight with TCU. TCU has won 7 straight games going back to their NIT championship last year, and are favored by a whopping 18 points.
As with everyone else at this point in the year, it is hard to get a read on who is who, but it appears they play a bunch of guys and are led by a 6'5" guard Desmond Bane. So, Mr. Hurst meet Mr. Bane.
Great early test with a high-major who is expecting an invite to the NCAA tourney.

TCU is the 4th "other team receiving votes", so they're effectively ranked 29th in the AP poll. I still expect to be within 18 points.

Game is on Fox Sports Southwest. If you have a smart TV, Roku, Firestick, etc, you should be able to download the FOX Sports Go app, sign in with your cable or satellite provider, then be able to watch the game.

I did not think that would work if my cable subscription didn't carry that regional channel. I'll have to try it.

I guess I'm not exactly certain either. I found the game last night on there and set an alarm for it to alert me when game begins.

I have Midco (which I highly recommend because of their great coverage of Coyote and regional sports) and I can get the game on channel 639.

DirecTV has it on #668-2 and #676 at 8 central.
Go Yotes! I smell an upset tonight.

Big 12 TCU (2-0) will be a tough match up but they did have a fairly close game against Louisiana-Monroe beating them by 10. They blew out Tennessee Tech by 37. This kind of reminds me of the Houston game last year as the Cougars were just out side the rankings at that time. The Coyotes will face a team more athletic then them as was Houston. I think a big difference this year is that the Yotes are much better at this point of the season than they were last year. They shouldn't get overwhelmed to the point that they were against Houston. I do believe that the Coyotes can keep this one reasonably close but to actually win would be huge. I have to go with the Scaly Toads 81-70.

Toads 42-33 at half. If both teams were just wearing black and white with no team names on them I would guess that TCU is maybe slightly better but the Coyotes look the part and can definitely compete well. If they play their best they could pull off an upset. The biggest difference is that TCU had some athletic drives to the basket and have made a few more contested threes. Otherwise very even game and the Coyotes have had some nice drives to the hoop tonight. You can tell this Coyote team is way ahead of where they were last year at this time. It looks like the Yotes have started this year for the most part where they left off last year.
If Mooney is considered the best player and Hurst the second best, my vote goes to Hagedorn as the next in line.

Only thing I don't like about Mooney shredding a P5 school is the looming grad-transfer possibility after this season

Anybody else getting a headache from that whiteish, purpleish color of the floor, what an ugly floor.

Only thing I don't like about Mooney shredding a P5 school is the looming grad-transfer possibility after this season He could undoubtedly move up if he wanted, but let's just enjoy it. I'm not going to sit around all season upset that Craig Smith could leave for a better job in April. Why get anxious about one of our players being good enough to move on?
