Ndsu would never offer him. You may be correct but his name has been bandied about on BV for weeks

For starters, anyone that thinks his name wouldn’t even be considered or at minimum discussed doesn’t have a great feel for football in our part of the world. Bobs track record is that of a winner. Last years abboration is probably the one chink in his storied past where his team didn’t improve. History shows Bob builds winners.
That being said, NDSU also has a track record. A large percentage of the time, they hire from within. Not only head coaches, but coordinators as well. And why not? If there’s a plan to duplicate, that’s the one. Their culture has bred itself into a machine. Combine that with the incredible amount of airtime the “talking heads” of sports radio has given them the past 3 years, being located in a metro area of 300,000 football hungry fans, and a payroll that is second to none in the MVFC and you have the recipe for success. I’ve said it many times over the years at the risk of being Captain Obvious, this is the template you want to copy. Our main problem quite honestly is we don’t have a fan base broad enough that seems to care. I do. You do. But the vast majority of the Coyote Alum are ho-hum about supporting them, not only financially but attendance as well.
The school along with a fair number of alumni have reached deep in their pockets to elevate Coyote athletics with the building of the new arena, the training facilities, the weight room, FCOA, etc. Now we are raising $26.5M to finish the Dome, build outdoor practice facilities, coaches offices and more. I guaranty you that the USD alum on an individual basis has outgiven the Bison in raising the platform to be competitive. Fargo has relied heavily on municipal funding for their Dome and expansions. What they raise in capital campaigns would pale in comparison to USD or even SDSU. When that Dome is done, Bob has the keys to the Mercedes, and it’s his job to raise our status to elite. He knows that and he welcomes that. For that reason alone I would bet my bottom dollar Bob isn’t going anywhere. And Bob will get the job done with you or without you. He’d prefer you be part of it as well.

NDSU has already promoted their DC Matt Entz to head coach. I bet that keeps players happy this week.

The above post is Billy Madison-esque. How is Augie related here? I think "Augie-to-the-Summit" is Aldewit's version of Coyote Fan's "attendance conspiracy" or "I am the only objective fan" rants. It's an obsession that appears in multiple unrelated threads, much to the annoyance of board readers and participants. To be clear, I am one that is on-board with Augie, but there are many on here that disagree, and that's fine. To bring up the point repeatedly and obsessively with nobody engaging you in conversation about it anymore is clearly not the best strategy for changing anyone's minds on the subject IMHO. We have discussed it to death. Nobody cares anymore, unless there is actually some new news on the subject.Well I guess my post didn't age well.... two days later we get the announcement.... I jinxed it, I guess.

They are testing the market. If the game draws well they will have the confidence to offer more guarantee money for a better opponent. They have the potential to make a lot of money on this and gain a lot of visibility. If it works out it could be a signigicant revenue stream for them and probably irritate the Gophers as well I think you are overestimating how much people in Minneapolis would care about this event. The common person here doesn't even care about the Gophers, a school they view as a junior college playing at Target Field isn't going to move the needle. NDSU fans will travel and make a good crowd. That won't justify renting out the facility and taking money away from the Fargo economy. This game is now mostly sold out. 30,000 plus. There is now open talk of doing it again with a bigger opponent. Possibly a much bigger game in US Bank stadium or another large venue game in another city against a top FCS team. There were several suggestions on BV for that. There is also rumor Target Fuekd has asked UND for a November game. The game will count as a home game at Target. A remote venue game could also count as a road game. This will have a noticeable impact on NDSUs average home attendance. Its a huge idea that seems to be gaining some traction. It provides an opportunity to open up a brand new revenue stream beyond the capability of the smaller FCS venues to produce. As I understand it NDSU pays Target no rent and Target pays the Butler guarantee. NDSU gets the tickets and advertising revenues. I believe the staging costs are shared. If these typs of events are successful Target may be able to get a more favorable split. On the other hand there are bigger stadiums and bigger opponents too. Right now NDSU could take the guarantee money Target is willing to pay add a bit to it and have Minnesota, KSU or Iowa money. It’s an intriguing idea.
