I'm not sure Madison should ever be taking 9 shots in a half. [. I have followed Maddie for 6 years, since she and Hannah played their AAU years together. Yes, she may have her “off” days, but she is definitely a strong shooter. She is so fun to watch, both on offense and defense. Her free throws in the MN State tournament set records for most shots taken and most shots made....

I'm just going to say it. I LOVE watching this Lady Yotes team play. Share the ball, everyone can shoot, someone goes down someone steps up, defense intensity etc. Coach P has done an awesome job mixing and matching. This team is special!!!

Interesting stat. With Allison, we actually only won by 15 points I think. I attribute more to the difference between playing home versus away on this than that personnel difference. I agree with you assuming she had played. I was more pointing out that she did not actually play, and we still won by what I would have assumed we would have otherwise. It's too small a sample size to take too much from though.

I was not happy at the beginning of the year, thinking that we were going to not do very well. But this team has really shown that it is tough!!

Heading into the year, and even after non-conference play, I felt we'd be doing well to beat out Western Illinois for 2nd place. Fantastic work by Coach P and her crew.

Coach P should get a raise. Each game there are certain match-ups where one person will be asked to look to shoot or drive or pass or defend more than normal, and not only does the team respond, they thrive. Her system and game planning are really quite genius, but since it isn't flashy and there are not 1 or 2 players with crazy stats, it goes largely unnoticed by most fans.

What Dawn has done and how the players have been developing is being noticed now if it wasn't before. At the beginning of the season I really felt like the Coyotes Women were being under estimated and I have/had good reasons why I thought that was the case and I commented on that before the season. They cooled off pretty significantly at the end of the non conference but now that this team knows what they are about there has been no question regarding how good this team is. I would be lying if I didn't admit I was very concerned after the loss against Tulsa. There is just something about this team that is very addicting and maybe it is just to watch the rest of the Summit League with their jaws hanging on the floor after every statement making win by this team. As a fan I have been using the respect card as a reason to really up the intensity level of cheering on this team. 20 years of very good to great basketball apparently isn't enough where people still remain surprised. If I had to keep 2 coaches at USD where I could lock them up and throw away the key Dawn and Craig would be my first two choices in no particular order. These teams are unbelievable right now. I don't want to take for granted what we are seeing this year because it is an awesome thing. The Coyotes are punching the Summit League right in the nose once again as they go for 3 titles in 4 years and would have been predicted to win zero of them. Let's not be affraid to strive for an undefeated conference season. That would be a good accomplishment and I don't want to hear how a loss would be good because undefeated is undefeated. The loss to Tulsa was the loss that I felt was good if there was one. I would rather welcome the pressure at the Summit League Tourney as a 14-0 team, than to get a loss just to release some of that air from the pressure valve. The Coyotes have Fort Wayne and Omaha on the road. I think those are pretty much the worst teams in the league. It would be a major upset if they lose either of them. Then it comes down to home vs Oral Roberts and SDSU. I certainly don't want SDSU to ruin the perfect conference season so if the Coyotes lose I hope it is to some one else.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they give her an extension after the season so she isn’t a lame duck ala Nielson.

Her son signing up the road and the age of her daughter make me think we've got the pleasure of watching Mrs. Plitzuweit for another half decade at least.

The Williams situation was a perfect (or imperfect, depending on your viewpoint) storm. I'm not saying it's impossible that somebody comes calling for Plitzuweit ... because she is a proven, excellent basketball coach. But she is older than Williams and at a different stage of her career and life ... and she doesn't have a high-major alma mater falling apart down the road. I think Coyote fans should be beyond happy with their current coaching situation in women's basketball.

That said, USD fans should be cheering for the University of Michigan to remain in the Top 25 for a long, long time.

You could say the same thing about the University of Minnesota. There are a lot of local people that are not too happy with her...

Minnesota might be one of the few programs that could pry AJ away from SDSU
