I have it as #1 NDSU any idiot could get that one right. #2 UNI not sure why they aren't getting more respect. #3 USd As long as Simmons is solid I don't think they'll fall off as much as some #4 SDSU this is where it becomes hard for me I think that there highly overrated #5 SIU I've been high on them all off season even with my distaste for them. #6 WIU I don't think we will be as bad as some think as long as the OLine holds up. I think even with the loss of Taylor the defense will be better. #7 ISU I'm not sold on the deadbirds I don't understand the love. #8 YSU Basically the same as ISU #9 MSU Still MSU #10 INSU should win week 1 after that not a whole lot to be confident in.

Thanks for chipping in; always nice to hear a non troll's perspective on things. You really think your defense is going to be better without Taylor? I realize that d lineman you have might be the best defensive player in the league, but Taylor was pretty much a superstud. That guy was everywhere. NDSU as the top pick is obvious to me too, but two through seven should really be a dogfight, a lot of games that will be decided by the thinnest of margins. I'm just not buying into YSU. There's been too much reliance on transfers with issues and poor high school recruiting. It's got to catch up with them sometime, although they'll probably be good enough to mess up some team's season.

Yes I truly do believe the defense could be better obviously Brett was a stud but we really didn't lose anything along the D-Line it could be the deepest one that we've had in a long time. Outside of Taylor we bring back most of our production in the LB group Moon could really up his game and he was really solid last year. The DB position has the most of the turnover on defense but I think that there are a lot of really solid players back there. I'm more concerned about the O-Line than anything I think there is some talent there but we are very young. We didn't play YSU the last 2 season so I really didn't see much of them last year but it's just an opinion.

1. NDSU 2. ISU 3. UNI 4. SDSU 5. YSU 6. SIU 7. USD 8. WIU 9. MSU 10. Ind. St
I don't know, I think we're a 5 win ball club at most. It's just tough because imagine where we'd be with Jed Stugart as our coach, the clear choice. Greenfield is our best player and probably just a starter, nothing else, on NDSU.
Damn it is fun being pessimistic.
Actually I think we finish 4th and beat the Bunnies, finally.

Ok, I'll change my picks a bit (still before the first game)
#1 NDSU --8-0 ........ #2T ISUr -6-2 #2T USD --6-2 #4 UNI ---5-3 #5T SDSU -4-4 #5T YSU --4-4 #5T WIU --4-4 ........... #8 SIU ---2-6 #9 MSU ---1-7 #10 ISUb -0-8
I think Illinois State and UNI have favorable home schedules this year. I wasn't particularly high on either of them, but I went through the schedule game-by-game, and this was what I came up with.

Definitely agree about Illinois state. That’s how I ended up having them #2.

This is USDs transition year... we go deep into the playoffs and this is our coming out year as we show last year wasn't a fluke. Next year we're considered a program eqaul in depth to NDSU, a new big boy on the block and knock that Bison off our back and win it all. SDSU? Not even in our sights. We keep rolling this year right thru them as we're building a team to beat that monkey... not his flees! 😏
