Got my first look at Mike Frederick the cornerback on Wednesday. Here's what coach Nielson said afterward about why the switch was made and how Frederick has handled it.

I was floored when I heard this news. Is he really ready to step in at CB? We obviously need it if a guy who had 5 YPC made the switch for his senior season.

I think that this says more about the staff's comfort level with the talented group of young running backs than anything about Frederick. It may be a simple case of getting your best players on the field in positions where they can best help the team win.

I didn't realize he was serving a two game suspension to start the season.
