Capacity of the Dome is listed as 10000. CF would know for sure since he's counted all the seats.

After the 900-mile round trip, a few thoughts:
I second obc's comments on the game. Lots of room for improvement in many aspects. For some reason our performance left a bit of bad taste in my mouth (and it had nothing to do with the lozenges I was sucking on).
1. We need to go up big early. So far, after only two games, it seems like teams adjust to our offense after one or two quarters and we seem to coast on offense from there. 2. Except for third down, the crowd was as quiet as ________ (fill in the blank here). I was about the only person yelling when UNC had the ball on first down, the most important in football. To the crowd's credit, we did yell on 3rd down and that caused some confusion on their part. Come on crowd! Let's get into it! Defend the Dome, Please. 3. As obc stated, our kicking game will cost us down the road. It crossed my mind that maybe our BB coach knows an Aussie athlete who can kick. 4. The gray uniforms. One person mentioned that it looked like the opposing team was playing in their underwear. What is it with this color anyway?
On an earlier post I mentioned that three areas would be of concern in this game: special teams; their QB (who was very good); and RB ( I meant WR). Thank goodness UNC had little or no running game or we would have had a difficult time on defense.
All's well that ends well, I guess. If nothing else, I just would we could have put them away with a few yards on the ground when we needed it. Come to think of it, I think we could have made a few yards running wide with our FR running back. He seems to have some speed.
Simmons was fantastic but need I state we will need a great performance by the entire team to win this next one. Sorry, hope this post isn't overly negative. I know the coaches understand there's a lot of work to do. Still a big groggy from the trip I guess.

It really is somewhat amazing the lack of respect USD gets on the national scene, even within our own conference really. I get NDSU obviously and even the bunnies for that matter, but some of the others that are consistently and highly ranked... no. Just for one example: our old friend Nichols State. We beat them last year at their place, they come out rated way higher than we are this fall and then in OT squeak by a ridiculously sad Kansas team that won't win a game . We take Kansas State to the brink and are lucky to make it into one poll and some don't even have us ranked. I wonder how the KU vs KSU game will go? How are we behind New Hampshire? or UNI and Western for that matter? I realize everything sorts itself out in the end, but still, the seed is planted and I think the playoff committee uses these polls to any degree we get a short shrift. I hope I'm wrong. End rant. It’s the win that counts. Your talking about a quality loss. UND is the FCS expert on quality losses but they don’t count much. USD lost a close one to a good Kansas State team. Keep playing well and winning is the only way to build on it. That game will gain respect if the Yotes have a great season. It means less and less with each loss. More and more with each win. This is is an important game. A win today is a positive statement about last week and a clear message to the league. You guys beat us pretty good about 365 days ago, but " Quality Losses ?" that's not us.

This is homecoming week for us, expecting lots of alumni on campus, slowly regrouping from your thrashing. You guys have a great week off, then kick some butt in the MVFC. Start to soften up those teams, we're anxious.
