They rush 3 guys and get enough pressure to force a bad throw that gets picked off. I though the OL was a strength? Simmons has had 0 time all night to throw

Not Simmons fault. Most pathetic OL play I’ve ever seen.

Not Simmons fault. Most pathetic OL play I’ve ever seen. Totally agree. Could count on one hand the number of times Simmons had more than 2-3 seconds to get a pass off without running for his life

Thank goodness we have two weeks to fix that hot mess of an offense, that was terrible. Expect to see changes!

Weber straight up beat the Yotes. Their D was legit and their QB making his first start was very poised. The OL needs to improve. there must have been 15 QB hits for Weber. The defense played alright considering the O did them no favors. One of those games where itfelt like nothing went right and when it did there was usually a stupid penalty.

Well that was ugly especially by the OL, some dropped passes too. No shortage of things to work on. Unbelievable penalties--throwing the ball at a player, I believe one defender for us had 3 15 yd penalties two totally uncalled for the other on a PI call which was correct, illegal procedures, etc. Was it just me but on the Simmons fumble didn't he hit the ground first? Give Weber credit especially their front 7 on D--great pressure, blitz packages, etc. I think they remembered the 2 OT loss in Vermillion and came to play. For any fans there--how bad was the wind? Obviously not a lot of time for deep balls but only saw a couple... On short yardage our backs run too much east and west instead of north and south... Hopefully the Yotes got a lot of bad play out of their system!

Considering how little the hurry-up offense moved the ball, only giving up 27 points on defense is promising. Would’ve been less if not for the dumb unsportsmanlike penalties

Well, that was brutal. I think tonight was a defining point in our season. In one way, a win would have helped our playoff argument down stretch, especially if we let a few conference games slip away. In reality, this loss is going to show us what we need to clean up In order to become competitive again. Coaches always say it, and I think as fans it is easy to lose sight of it, but we truly need to focus on one game at a time. We are about to enter grind of conference play. Our conference is way, way too good to look at our schedule and automatically mark some conference games down as a “w” just because we are ranked and another team is not.
Obviously we need to shore up our offensive line. I believe we are capable of playing better. I have full faith in our offensive weapons. But when there is no time to make a play we are flat.
I am a little concerned on our lack of a running game to date. We need to figure that out.
I think our defense played okay. Weber States success’s on defense really fueled their offense and we sort of got tunnel vision.
Penalties. We beat ourselves so many times tonight. I can think of at least two PFs that gave Weber State a first down when they were about to punt. We saw this against KState and last week against NC. This is a huge problem.
There is a lot of ball left to play. But we can’t win the the conference championship in week 4. Let’s just win the game.
