I don't understand why everyone is blaming the o line for everything. Yes they are not as good as last year but they don't fumble the ball or throw interceptions or drop a kick off. How about throw the ball away or don't hold it for ever on a screen. Protect the ball when running with it. Also the running backs need to go north and south. Stop trying to juke the defenders just take 3 or 4 yards and don't worry about getting 30. We beat the crapy teams and everyone goes crazy about how great we are. We are what we are period. I have said it a million times and get ripped all the time it starts with the qb. He will never beat a good team. He freaks out and makes mistakes but everyone blames others for his mistakes. They will lose to ndsu and sdsu. They will win 2 of the other 3 games remaining. So what is the alternative at this point?

He's a dip!! A member of the "blame the QB club" which is always a very moronic thing to do. But for someone who doesn't understand fb it's nice and easy LOL He obviously doesn't have an alternative and never has!!

You're never on here after a win, only the losses. It'll be nice next year when you're gone because you have your own agenda and deep down you really don't give one rip about the Coyotes. I can even imagine you smugly hoping they lose.

But I still think you're totally football inept and just a whiner in general. I do think your kid's been playing well. Seems to have adjusted to that side of the ball nicely. So kudos on that.

Go ahead and cry about my post and say I know nothing but I do know this when idiots like you at the beginning of the year were saying 9 10 wins I was saying 3 4 wins and it looks like I will be close. So chug it down and think what you want but the facts are the facts. Come on here after beating a crapy team and drink the cool aid no thanks. BEAT A REAL TEAM AND SHUT MY MOUTH. Don't know who you are and don't care.

Did I make this up? He was responsible for 14 of unis points what was the final score?

I hope not, but those are teams playing at a higher level than we are right now. Everyone on this board is aware of that. But can you honestly say we'd have a better record or be in a better position if your kid was QB1? That's the question I'd like an answer for.

You're crazy if you think that's all on the QB...

Don't know who you are and don't care. I don't blame any one player...win as a team, lose as a team. And yes, you've been nothing but all over him since you've been on here. One thing I would never do is to call out some player individually. Those kids work too hard and put too much time into it for any fan to questions their efforts or abilities. I never predicted 9 or 10 wins, actually I never predicted anything win or loss wise and I did think we'd be better then we've shown, but I'll continue to support USD in all sports long after you're gone and I still hope for the best this season. I did, and do still think we'll win more than 3 or 4. Are you going to be happy if you're right? What's your football expertise besides being a nightmare parent? I really feel sorry for you. You must be leading an absolutely miserable existence to be so hostile and filled with anger. It must be true what I've heard about you from sources. I do know who you are and I the whole scenario makes me ill.

The problem is the loss at KSU. The Yotes could, and maybe should have won that game. They disappointed themselves. It shook their confidence as a team and as individuals. A win at KSU and the team has a much better chance of realizing its potential.
No one person is going to change this around. Mistakes by individuals are beside the point right now. The problem is more fundamental. Sometimes people call it “gelling”. A team becomes cohesive, plays well together and feels success and acomplisment.
The KSU win would have provided that. The WSU loss reconfirmed the doubts cast after KSU. Right now the Yotes are on the bubble with their destiny dead ahead. If the team is to move on it’s as much a coaching challenge as anything else.
Even if there are no more great victories this year and the playoffs fade it’s still football. It’s fun to party and it’s fun to watch.
We are still watching as part of the bigger playoff picture but even if it turns out we are playing for pride it’s still the Yotes out there for USD and all their fans so I say discuss, enjoy, support.
I also say everybody has their voice. Rather than attack people ad hominem when you disagree try making your own case on the point in contention. Some may not like the historic perspective and my take on the history of UND but others don’t like name calling and squabbling about opinions. If you disagree make your own point. An insult is not a point made.

UNI rushed 3 consistently and got to Simmons. Not only did they rush 3, but they lined up with 3 safety's deep not even disguising it daring us to throw it underneath and over the middle. They need to go over the middle - the dink and duck stuff on the perimeter all game doesn't work.

I have not chimed in for a few weeks, but I thought I would after Saturday nights game. First, please no more home night games!! The whole day felt off for the tailgaters, so I can only imagine the change for the players. It is our home field, let's keep the advantage by keeping the routine the same. When we are on the road, players are used to a different schedule, but at home it is nice to have the same routine.
As far as the game goes, we flat got beat. Turnovers will happen, but when all 3 are on our half of the field and they convert them all to points, the likelihood of a win is minimal. Additionally, we got beat up on both the offensive and defensive lines. Lose the turnover battle, fail to win the LOS, and you can expect to lose the game. With all of that being said, we still had out chances, we just need to finish our drives. I said to some friends before the game that we needed to jump to an early lead on this team and force them to play from behind. UNI is built to hold leads not come from behind, when we failed to convert TDs in our first two drives, we let them stay in the game.
Offensively, Our running game disappeared? Part of that is on our line, but give credit to their Defense in keeping our runs very short early in the game. My only concern is how quickly we abandoned our commitment to run. In the second half, we stopped attacking the middle? Never ran Klett the second half, I know we were behind, but I would like to think running Klett and Thull up the middle would eventually wear them out, open up some better runs and keep their pass rush at bay? Simmons statistically had a good game. He continues to be a top tier QB in the MVFC. He still occasionally struggles with accuracy on some of his deep balls and I would love to see him do a better job of checking to his 2nd or 3rd reads as he often seems to lock into his first reads to often. Despite all of that, he may be the best I have seen at throwing the outs and digs. He is not Chris Streveler and he needs support from the running game and receivers to succeed, but I would also like to see him run a little more as he can put pressure on a defense with his feet. I did like the use of our Tight Ends in the passing game this week, I would love to see more of this.
Defensively, Our D-line had their worst game of the season, I would like to give all the credit to the UNI O-Line, but I also think we are better than we played Saturday night. Pressure on the opposing QB is important, when we have only 1 sack and 1 QB hurry you can expect to be picked apart. Our Linebacker play was very good and we did a nice job of limiting their running attack. If anyone has not noticed, Jack Cochrane is becoming a force at MLB. He is always attacking downhill and covers from sideline to sideline. I would not be surprised to see his name on some all conference lists at the end of the year. Our DBs played well considering their QB had plenty of time in the pocket. Gray, Reed and Johnson continue to play well at safety, but the potential loss of Powell for the year will hurt. It was nice to see Fredrick get in the game and overall he played well, but still lacks experience at CB and it showed at times. Collins is our shutdown corner and is playing very well. I am confident this side of the ball will be ready for next week.
The game cannot be replayed, so we need to have a short memory, figure out what we need to do to improve and move forward. We need some dominate wins versus YSU, Indiana St., and WIU. We also need to find a way to step up and get a win versus an XDSU team to assure a spot in the postseason. I still have confidence we will play an extra game or two this season, but also remember we are a young team and our best years will still be ahead of us.

Pre-season I thought the Yotes had a legit shot at 6-2 in the conference based on the OL and DL being the team strengths. At this point, OL has become a glaring weakness, which is causing me to completely re-set my expectations. My hope is that the coaching staff is also going through a reset, so that formations and play calls can put players in a position to succeed, even when that is not what 'the system' wants to do. (ex - at some point, why not leave a back or TE in on the right side to help against #47?)

BTW - this board has become very venomous to opinions/posters they don't like, and the mob seems to go to personal attacks immediately. I know that is how social media in general typically goes, but thought we were better than that here.
