87-79 final. Ionesco (sp?) from Oregon played a little hero ball at the end. Jacks missed a handful of critical shots in the clutch, but certainly played well enough to win overall.
Also Oregon played smart in avoiding fouls at the end, where the Jacks were obviously trying hard to draw them.

Too bad really. Wouldn't have been the worst thing in the world to see the bunnies win what with the RPI and all. Don't they have someone else tough coming in this weekend? A win there and a 'Yote win at Mizzou could really set either up for a possible at large this spring. Hey! It happened in volleyball so why not hoops? Got to get some of these wins because once Summit League play starts there will be a few real dogs that'll be nothing but an RPI drag. I wish a few of the conference schools would get their poop in a group and step it up. I'm looking at you NDSU in particular.

...Don't they have someone else tough coming in this weekend?.., Sure. They’ve got the Savannah State women coming in on Friday. Not kidding. Maybe they’ll drop another hundy on the women’s team. J/k. This stuff just writes itself. But seriously, the last big game on their schedule is @ #50 Wyoming next week sometime. That’s actually a pretty tough venue.

Sure, Savannah State is no College of Saint Mary or Bellevue... See, we played the preseason #1 NAIA team in the country, but we added this little thing called “exhibition” to the game. Maybe it’s something your women’s program should try. Since you all seem so concerned about RPI, maybe add a couple more games to your schedule that, you know, actually add to yours? It’s pretty funny that you mock us about playing a HBCU program and then I look at your schedule, and low and behold if I don’t see Grambling State there... Are you looking for their current 258 RPI ranking to help you or raise the level of the Summit? So do you seriously want to walk down the schedule SDSU has played compared the to what you have?! Oh, and you forgot to mention we have RPI 108 Montana State still on the schedule. So currently outside of SS, the worst team according to the RPI we have played is Creighton. Looking forward to conference starting so questions can be answered head to head. Should be some fun competitive games. Wish the rest of the league was moving in the same direction our two programs are.

Isn't it wonderful when insecure bunny people come on our board to tell us how wonderful they really are? So sad when adults need to get their self esteem from the accomplishments of college kids.

Just the slightest poke and some of them go right off the edge. There doesn't seem to be a great understanding of RPI either with NAIA being brought up as some kind of point.

Wish the rest of the league was moving in the same direction our two programs are. Dude, WTF are you talking about? Did you NOT see the "J/K" in my post? It was a joke. That was an extremely subtle (and deserved) jab at the Jack's men's team, not the women's. Do you not see the irony of the Women playing the same school that just got a historic and unnecessary beat-down from the men? Relax. It wasn't a shot at the women's scheduling. Obviously the Jacks (women) schedule tough. (After Oregon you are the #3 schedule in the nation) I mean, it's not like I have mentioned how tough their schedule is many, many times on this board.... Oh, wait. I HAVE done that. I have posted nothing this year that denigrates A.J. or his women's team. He deserves respect for his accomplishments. He has built a juggernaut, and has done it the right way. He plays his bench in blowouts. He recruits high-character, smart young ladies, he has always been smart with his RPI strategies and tournament coaching strategies. He isn't a jack-ass. I post positive and fair things about the Jacks' women. Although I'm a bit of a homer, I occasionally try to be a realist and question what our women's team is doing, or how they are playing. Your posting history is similar on the SDSUfans board, with regard to being fair and critical, rather than straight homer, and blinded by bias. Yet for some reason the smallest perception of a slight just sets you off, and you go ballistic, criticizing our scheduling (which happens to be the best in our school's history). No, I'm not happy they scheduled NAIA Bellevue, but I think it is a carry-over from last year, and coincided with the men's team playing them (like the Savannah State thing). Grambling State is in the same tournament as #67 Loyola Marymount and #15 Indiana, so that seems to be a silly team to point at. Sorry I chose not to mention the Montana State team, but given the toughness of the rest of your schedule I thought I would point out the last upper-tier team on it. I never said anything about Montana State being bad, it just isn't a highlight. What is happening to the Jacks' fans? There is so much to be proud of and focused on in their athletics right now, and yet you guys are searching for slights on other boards to overreact to. "Wow" is right. I'd love to hear from OldHare or one of the other non-hysteric Jacks fans on this development.

That's actually a great article. It's one of those "how do you REALLY feel?" honest-about-bias articles. I think this line in it may explain the timing of all this thin-skinned-ness we are seeing right now: The pending semifinal game must have them irritable.

Ah yes, the origin story of that sham, forced "rivalry". At least the author is an honest Jackrabbit. In his own words, "A rivalry was born. It all felt so weird. I remember thinking at the time, and I still question: How do you pick your biggest rival? How does it work to choose to detest someone?" The answer is it doesn't work that way, that's why it feels so weird.

Cowgirls up by double digits at the half. The Jacks are getting out-rebounded and out-hustled, and Wyoming is draining 3s.
I’ve seen this team play with their hair on fire, so I know they’re capable. Not quite sure what the deal is. Hopefully the Cowgirls’ luck from the arc will run out, and the Jacks will get aggressive. Plenty of time.

You have to be about 10 points better than Wyoming if you want to win in Laramie
