Hope there's some decent weather in April this year when they start playing home games.

Wow! Our softball team just finished the weekend 4-1 with quality wins over Purdue and Middle Tennesse State. That puts them at 11-4 on the season. Movin' on up the rankings.

That's a good thing for the sport and for the Summit.

Looks like starting this Friday, the team goes on a long 10-day road trip to Arizona and California, playing 14 games in the toughest stretch of their schedule. We will all be pre-occupied with the Men's and Women's basketball finales, (and NCAA BB in general) but take a peek at scores when you can. These will be some major upset opportunities, and the team is playing at a high level so far. Major improvement over the last couple years.

With the total crap weather we've been having, spending all these weekends in Florida, southern California and Arizona makes the softball players the most envied kids on campus I would think. They've been doing a great job so far. Conference could be interesting this year.

They've been doing a great job so far. Conference could be interesting this year. Just going by the game days, which would not include travel leading up to/following the games, I see: Feb - 3 days in South Carolina Feb - 7 days in Florida (across two trips) March - 6 days in Arizona (across two trips) March - 2 days in California March - 2 days in Georgia That's like 4 full weeks of escaping this crap that has been crushing my spirit.

I think 2 MT is 3 Central Time for the first game...
The Grand Canyon game (6:30 MST / 7:30 CST) will be streamed live on YouTube! Nice.

Massey's predictions for this weekend:
Friday Win vs UNC 5-4 Lose vs UGC 4-6 Saturday Lose vs UGC 4-6 Lose vs Utah 4-6 Sunday Lose vs ISU 2-4
I'll guess we go 3-2 instead of 1-4. Beating UNI, Utah, and go 1-1 vs GCU. The girls have been playing very well both on offense and defense. Good hitting. Good pitching. Massey uses last year's results as part of the early-season formula, so i think they are a little wrong here.

Looks like all of Grand Canyon's games (all sports) are streamed online on their YouTube channel for free. And I thought we were spoiled with coverage. Wow.

Double-headder today in Riverside Cali. (Don't be too Jelly, It's ONLY going to get up to 72 degrees there this afternoon. Cloudy, too. Sioux Falls is a balmy 14 degrees and very sunny right now, so we're fine. I might go for a lunch-hour walk with my parka.
On the bright side, it looks like there is a video feed for both games (1 PM and 3:30 PM CST)
Cal Baptist is a pretty even match-up for us, according to Massey. We have a 50% chance of winning in each game.
