Back on topic, the sneak peak from me:
SDSU/NDSU/UNI
These are the 3 top teams going in. After that
Indiana State/Ill state.
Indiana is the most interesting. They have been building. This is the watershed year. They continue their improvement or collapse like USD did last year.
after that nothing.
USD was terrible last year winning only 3 conference games. I expect it will be just as bad or worse unless something has changed. The rout coming up at Oklahoma will be a tough start but the bills have to be paid. A game with Augie at full FCS scholarships would be a lot of fun and light Sioux Falls up, but from what some of the posters here have been saying all over the internet, probably not Vermillion. Right now I’m picking Augie when that game is finally played. USD is perfect upset material for them
SIU is a dumpster fire. Expect them to be terrible. What a disappointment SIU has been, falling out of contention after the Dale Lennon hire from UND. It was a disaster, ending his coaching career and leaving the SIU program in a shambles. We are waiting for signs of a turn around.
MSU will be no better or worse than usual.
DARK HORSE: YSU.
WIU could be the worst team with all the financial problems in that horribly governed state but they may run in the middle of the pack picking off a few contenders and some weaklings. Tradition runs strong with the Leathernecks.
Thanks for the chance to post. Don’t know if I will be back, it’s weird around here.
I’m not sure who you are or why you posted then finish with the “ things are weird around here “ comment? You’re new to our website then say something like that? There’s validity to your post but you lose some creds when you say Augie would beat USD. Obviously anything can happen on any given Saturday but the Coyotes would put 63-70 on Augie but not sure what they would give up. Maybe 21?
SDSU is the mystery team this year in my opinion. They could win 8-10 games easily and I could see them winning 6-7. Their non conference schedule is soft. At Minnesota is a big game. Southern Utah was horrible last year but in all fairness this game probably was schedule 4-5 years ago. Drake and Long Island are laughable.
I disagree with your assessment about UNI. They aren’t that good. Not poor, just not salty. I think the MVFC is balanced but perhaps not as strong as years past? Still the best league in FCS nationally just not quite as good as years past.
I see the Coyotes being anywhere from 5-3 to 3-5 in the league. I honestly felt 2 years ago ‘19 would be our break out year. I’m hopeful for it but concerned in a couple areas. If they gel they could be real good. I see Simmons testing player of the year waters if he’s protected. I see us scoring a lot of points. Hopefully our new D coordinator can turn things around that way.
