Denver was up by 16 in the second half and didn't score in the final 6:28 of the game. Have to think USD matches up better against UND

UND is less dynamic offensively IMO. But, and this is a big BUT, the F-Hawks’ style of bruising basketball pairs well with tournament officiating....

Stylistically ND is a better match up for the ladies. How the Yotes do on the defensive end will be the difference in the game tomorrow. The Coyotes have so much balanced scoring. So the dilemma is who does ND focus on. Coach P has the team focused and as rested as possible. I like there chances!

The record attendance for a Women's SLT championship was last year (2018) @ 8,704*.
Looking at the unsold tickets map on Ticketmaster I estimate around 9,500 sold already, although I think the official attendance is gate rather than sold tickets. I could be wrong. Either way there aren't likely to be many sold seats without butts in them for this one.
My math: The T.Denny Sanford Premiere Center holds a max 12,000 capacity for basketball. Only 5 upper balcony sections have not been opened, and 6 of them were recently opened, but haven't been filled (mostly). So I'll assume about 11 upper sections unsold.
The upper sections are pretty close in size. The largest holds 240, smallest holds 200. Average 220.
11 x 220 = 2,420 tickets
12,000 - 2,420 = 9,580
round down for error: about 9,500 sold tickets.
* edit: that is the SLT women's championship record. The SLT women's SESSION record is 9,816. That was in 2016 for a first round (I assume it was the Saturday afternoon game with a SD team in each session.)

There were some holes throughout the arena, but obviously a great crowd, and I'd guess about 30% red.

I hadn't realized the Pioneers had made the WNIT. I had assumed with an RPI in the 160's they were a long shot. I guess they knocked off their first opponent. Nice! (New Mexico RPI #55 24-6)
And as a side note, "The Pit" can be a difficult venue for visitors. Denver beat them in front of 2875 fans, which is excellent for a first round WNIT game.
They shot 11-of-33 from the arc. Nelson with 27 points, 12 rebounds Loven was 5-18 from the arc for 21 points Romanowski with 13 points/ 9 assists
@ Idaho (RPI #84, 20-11) up next on Sunday...

I didn't realize that was a policy (or had forgotten). I knew any regular season champs that missed the dance were guaranteed a spot, just like the men's side. I think I like the women's rule better.

I didn't realize that either. That's some good info and something to remember. I wonder if they do that for the men's NIT as well?

On the men's side the only auto-bids are regular-season champs that don't win conference tourneys, and aren't also picked up with an at-large by the NCAA. Like the Yotes two years ago. On the women's side they extend it to the highest ranked remaining team (I assume that means by conference record rather than RPI?)

Yeah the NCAA runs the men’s tournament while the women’s tournament is ran by a different organization.
