We seem to be getting a large number of commitments a lot earlier this year. Last season we only had two or three at this date in time if I remember correctly. I would guess that's a good thing.

I think it is a good thing and hopefully a portrait of things to come. The pictures of the new locker room and the improvements probably have something to do with it. The locker room they are in now leaves something to be desired. The new one will put them into the same class as SDSU and probably a step above with an indoor game day facility. Much as we might wish they would worry about the education they receive, and I'm sure some do, but the bells and whistles (read facilities) make a big difference in the recruiting process. With the new outdoor practice facility, improvements to the Dome, and the weight room it's right up there with the top of our conference. 2020 kids will have their entire time at the school with the new facilities.

December signing period also has allowed teams to start recruiting juniors earlier thus more commitments in the summer.

The next step is to get rid of signing days. If these players are ready to commit just let them sign their NLI and move on with getting ready for their senior year.
