Geez, for a season preview they sure talked a lot about the Yotes. In their heads already...

That should give the Pios an advantage!!! Now it will be 7 against 6. (USD-6 Players) (Denver - 6 Players + the Yotes being in their head already)

Per This article from the Colorado State website, the Yotes will be playing in front of a large and energized masked crowd in Ft Collins tonight.

I would expect a few bumps in the road early then coming together and jelling by conference time. I would encourage as many people as possible to buy tickets and watch them play. They’ll be home next Thursday and Friday playing 3 matches. Let’s get on board supporting this team. Great coaches…great kids.

If you have never been to a volleyball match in the SCSC, I strongly encourage you to give it a shot. If you make it to one match, you will return. It is great entertainment and is made even better when played in front of a large and energetic crowd. I made it to several matches in 2019, including the last 4 in the NIVT post season run. That set the hook and this year I purchased season tickets for the first time.
The Yotes are in Louisville next weekend. The home tourney is on Thursday & Friday of the following week (Sept 9 & 10).

Good analysis. Here are a couple of quotes from the article: "...this may be the most competitive volleyball season ever for the Summit League title." Agreed."Two goals are clear for this season’s squad, win the Summit League conference tournament (in Vermillion, S.D.) and win at least one match in the NCAA Tournament." How about a goal of winning a SET in the NCAA tournament? No Summit/MidCon team has done that in 9 years, since Fort Wayne lost 2-3 to Iowa State in 2012. I'd be cool with showing at least some progress there. Winning a match would be better, of course."It is even possible, though still a long shot, considering the strength of conference schedules, that two teams could make it to the NCAA tournament from the Summit League. More than ever, non-conference records will be as critical as Summit League records." Agreed, although SOS can be more important than even the W/L %, the way that the RPI is calculated. As usual, expect Denver to play fast and deep into their roster and play by committee as opposed to South Dakota’s style of running their system through one of two outstanding players, Sami Slaughter and Elizabeth Juhnke. The season is likely to come down to a contrast in styles. South Dakota has the edge in stars and athleticism while Denver has the advantage in overall depth, adaptability, and team play. Fair comparison I think. I also agree with your earlier point that Libero play will be a factor for both teams. You guys just lost your super starter this year, we lost ours last year.

Anyone know if there's a way to watch the match today? The match at noon is not being streamed as I’ve been told. Tonight’s match at 8 pm is being live streamed by Colorado State as is the match tomorrow against UNC.
