Yikes is right. Omaha lost to Creighton by the same margin (13). I think Omaha is improved this year, but.... let’s face it. That was a bad loss for the Jacks. one game doesn’t make a season, but I think they are looking for answers at guard right now. Probably wishing AJ had tried to recruit Macy G. Creighton has beat the Jacks quite a bit over the years, so I'm not surprised. A lot of State's best teams have lost to Creighton. I'm actually kind of impressed that State only lost by 7 at Drake. It took a pretty miraculous comeback and finish for us to beat them at home. Sure. Creighton has been a good team over a long time, but they are 0-5 vs the Yotes since 2013. They finished 6th in the Big East last year, and are projected to #4 this year. I could be wrong, but I see a severe butt-whooping in store for the Jays in Des Moines on Saturday. It will be on ESPN3. As for the Jacks, ... who knows. So far none of their guards have stepped up and knocked down shots. In the end, talent trumps everything, and they have easily the best and deepest front-court in the league. I wonder how they will fare against Denver, ORU and WIU this year. Hell, I wonder how WE will do. Those teams are loaded with snipers, and ORU and Denver have now filled in the post spots with good transfers, too. The Jacks could easily lose 10 non-conference games, then turn around and win the league. Then again, I think they won't do either of those things.

Looks like the Yotes can clinch the Coy-dog Jay-Rabbit trophy this year with a win today. We would hold the tie-breaker over Drake. Creighton can play spoiler, but not win it. If we lose both today and in January vs the Jacks, Drake would take home the coveted and historic trophy.
Did we ever decide what it looks like?...

Perhaps the Art Department can make a "little brown jug" or maybe a vase with the likeness of each of the team mascots inscribed on it.
When the winner has the trophy, they can put whatever they choose inside. For example: (Bulldog) food, Bluejay food, etc. Just in case any State fans are tuning in - no liquids! If you know what I mean.

Here's another one. Picture it with a Bluejay, Jackrabbit, Bulldog and Coyote (in that order) the "Town Musicians of Breman" statue in Bremen, Germany

And don't say Bremen, Germany. Google image search. Pretty amazing what you can find in a short time frame if you know what to search for. Just type in the search keywords, click the "image" tab and voila. Works well for finding memes and gifs, too. I find that "a picture is worth a thousand words" applies to message boards (and all social media) very well.

Here's another fun fact: last year in the 2018-2019 season all four teams played each other, and the result would have been a 3-way tie.
USD 2-1 (lost to Drake) SDSU 2-1 (lost to USD) Drake 2-1 (lost to SDSU)
Creighton 0-3
rock-paper-scissors?

Updated standings after 12/4: 1. Yotes 2-0 2. Drake 2-1 3. Creighton 1-2 4. SDSU 0-2
Final game: SDSU @ USD 1/18
As noted earlier, USD wins the tie-breaker over Drake and Creighton win the tie-breaker over SDSU, so these are also the final standings - only the records need to be updated. So, I guess that means we can officially award the non-existent (yet) trophy to Coach P?

Or could be made by a student-artist, as Coyote70 suggested. Or could be made very crudely out of whatever. Like the original crappy Cy-Hawk trophy

Here's another idea. It's a little out-there. If you remember the series of memes using that strange white persian cat/monkey looking thing.... Well, ... that "thing" was actually a posable "room guardian" doll created by an artist named Anya Bos. And she made more. Like, hundreds of different dolls that look like a taxidermy joke, like a Jackalope. How is this related to the trophy? You ask. Well, you could just glue a Coyote head on a Bulldog body (plastic toys) and a rabbit head on a bluejay body. Easy peasy. In case anyone wants to see some of the nightmare fuel that that artist has created here is a gallery: (warning: do not click this link if you are easily creeped out) (seriously, don't do it.) (link)
