Beating Drake was a massive challenge and accomplishment. But, with that having been said... beating a Power 5 team will get more attention. It's hard to gauge the odds on this game with so little data on the season. The elevation is a factor in basketball, so they will be battling that.
TimberCoyote nailed the OT prediction for the Drake game. I think he should take a stab at this one!
Massey has us as underdogs, with a 68-74 finish. Massey is notoriously bad this early in the season, though. Basically using last year's data.

Interesting fact: Sophomore Utah Guard, #10 Dru Gylten, will be a familiar foe to Ciara Duffy, and possibly Sjerven and McKeever. Gylten was a former teammate of Duffy's at St Thomas More HS, and played club ball with North Tartan.

Elevation really isn't much of a factor in basketball unless you're playing at Tibet State, but they're not very good anyway.

Utah is limping into the game after dropping two tough road games in the state of Ohio, but have had a week and a half to rest up before their first home game vs. the Yotes.
@ Cincinnati: L 62-68 @ Xavier: ----L 63-70

Offense: not good.
62.5 ppg 37/30/68 shooting. woof.
ball control: not good.
-4 rebound margin -7 turnover margin
defense: good.
69.0 opponent ppg 39/32/61 shooting
when their opponents are shooting 61% FT i wonder how good of offenses they are playing, .... but I'll be conservative and say the Utes's defense is good.

Most of the players getting the most minutes and points are all Freshmen and Sophomores. There are only three upper-classmen on this team. Wow. I'll guess they have a transfer problem?

I count five upperclassmen and a redshirt sophomore on the roster. Gylten is also in her third year in the program but isn't listed as a redshirt sophomore. They'll get a lot better when Provo returns sometime this season from a knee injury she suffered last year. They did lose the conference freshman of the year (Dre'una Edwards) to a transfer to Kentucky, though.

Provo is injured, and #1 Puc is sitting this season. That leaves three upper classmen, and two of them (#25 and #35) aren't getting meaningful minutes. So just #00 Kiana Moore. That's a young team. Gylten is a good player, and in her third year. Based on stats I assume she is the starting PG, so that can be a calming influence. She doesn't shoot much, though. So what's your prognostication? I'll go with Yotes winning 72-58

I'm not too good at prognostications and this team seems to like playing close games. But I think they finally come out and get an easy win. 77-60.

Looks like the game will be free admission, and the Utes don't really have an attendance problem, at least by WBB standards (last year averaged 2,500+). So it could be a nice crowd of 2k to 3k or more. Big arena, though.

Hannah did play with Dru Gylten during Hannah‘s final year of North Tartan. Maddie was on a different team (Fury) that year.

For some reason I was reading “not very good” as about Utah.... think I’m getting a little slower in my middle age. SMDH

SMDH I can see how it could be read that way. Should have more specific that I was referring to the Fighting Yetis as not being very tough. Go Yets!
