Utah (who the Yotes beat in non-con) just beat #21 Arizona State. That will help their RPI, which will then help our RPI...

That's a Summit League first, and should help us get a higher seed, hopefully. I believe last year's 6-seed for the Jacks was a Summit record. With this poll ranking we could match that, or maybe even get a 5 (crazy talk). From listening to this week’s Yotecast, our ceiling sounds like a 5 seed. Although we may be good enough, we cannot host a 1st & 2nd round because Vermillion doesn’t meet the qualifications because of lack of hotels.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought just the first four seeds hosted first and second round games.

If a top 4 seed can't host for whatever reason I believe they must go with next highest in that quadrant (like that time we played Stanford in Ames). I think his point was that even if we had a high enough seed that we wouldn't be allowed to host.

Well now that the regular season is over we have only one more voting period for the polls before the SLT. I expect to move up slightly in the AP, 19 or 18, and in the USA CP an 11. Sweeping the conference should help our cause in both but might help out more in the coaches poll then the AP where we probably are near our ceiling. There’s a real chance though that we crack the top 10 in the coaches poll if we make it through the SLT.
Any other predictions for this week?

#13, #15, #16 & #18 all fell on Sunday. If the Yotes don't move up a bit in the AP , it is all biased by being mid-major. The Yotes are currently ahead of all of those teams in the Coach's Poll.

That bias was confirmed a while ago. Just look at the differences between the AP and coaches poll already. All of the mid-majors are significantly lower in the AP.

To play the devil's advocate.... Do you think it is actually bias or simply a lack of knowledge of what is really going on in WBB?

At this point it’s all hype anyway. I’d rather have the girls think they’re being slighted and play with a chip on their shoulder. In the words of Larry the Cable Guy....get ‘er done

I think another thing that will hold us back as far as seeding is the RPI and it's inherent bias against mid majors.
Right now we are #30, Which correlates with a 7-seed or even an 8-seed. If they used the AP poll, we'd be a 5-seed, the Coaches Poll would correlate with a 2-seed. Wouldn't that be something?
My guess is we end up with a 6-seed. I think we can work with that.

Obviously the team's total focus needs to be on the SLT and continue doing what they have been doing--winning one game at a time. Seeding, RPI, polls are fun to speculate about but just control what you can!! Stay HUNGRY and LOCKED IN on each game!! Go Yotes!!

How about Sioux Falls, might get the Denny, they hosted a NCAA Regional Final a few years ago,(2016 ?) Syracuse won it, I think....that's pretty close , only 50+ mi or so? Some Div 1 Universities are located in smaller Communities that don't have enough Hotel rooms, so they schedule as close by as possible where there's enough lodging available to meet NCAA guidelines. Maybe the venue has to meet a certain seating requirement too, I don't know, I know that Sioux Falls couldn't have the final four, because it doesn't have enough rooms for that yet either, but could, and did, host the Regional there.

Sioux Falls is already booked for other events. If a team is selected as a 4 seed but cannot host due to whatever reason, they do a “procedural bump”, move that team to 5, and move a different team to a 4. I know the girls are focusing on one game at a time, but we really want to be a 5 or 6 seed if we cannot be a 4. The reason is that the brackets that are in drivable distance for many of our families all seem to be ones that would have a 5 or 6 seed bracket - Chicago, Iowa City, or Evanston. The NCAA proclaims to want to put teams where their fans can attend, to help grow the women’s sport, so let’s see them give us that favor this year.
