I'm a South Carolina fan and looking forward to the game on Sunday. I visited your state when we played in the Sioux Falls Regional in 2016. Thanks for posting. You have any insight into this game? What does your fan base anticipate from us? I imagine we're not on your radar much and you'll probably be wondering just who are these people and what are they doing in our arena. I hope we'll leave a good impression. Games like this are nothing but a positive for our 'Yotes. We have a very young, but immensely talented, team. With a young team, you never never know how they will play, but with exams over, I think they'll be focused. We're more of an inside oriented team and I understand you guys shoot a lot of threes, so the contrasting styles should make for a fun game. I think the first thing your team will answer is how well they play in front of a big crowd.

Watched South Carolina play Duke for a bit last night. When I was watching, it felt like it was a success if Duke could throw 2 passes in a row without a USC steal. USC was really good at anticipating/cheating in the passing lanes, and Duke couldn't adjust to their quickness. It rattled Duke. It seemed odd in a way because the defense wasn't super aggressive or physical, but well defined as to where they wanted to ball to go, anticipating it, and then making Duke look silly. Normally USD would counter that with Duffy bringing the ball up and forcing someone bigger away from the hoop to offset the defenses plan, but I would guess USC will deny her the ball and force Lamb/McKeever to bring it up, and then cheat on the eventual pass to Duffy. (that is what the seemed to be doing with Duke) Dawn tweaked our defense a hair at the first media timeout against Duke and the Blue Devils never really adjusted until the fourth quarter when we played all bench players. I can't really compare your team to anyone in the SEC, so it will be interesting to see how we defend your shooters.

Only real comparison is the Indiana team that beat USD 68-60 last year in Puerto Rico and you guys this year in the Virgin Islands. If the Yotes have an offensive performance like last year's against Indiana it could be a long afternoon.

Do you guys know if this is a home and home? I was curious if the Gamecocks were playing in Vermillion next season.

I'm sure our school would prefer that, if USC is willing to travel. That would be a huge draw, attendance-wise. If it's a one-off, then we are probably getting "guarantee" money. That's one of the great things about WBB. The top teams are willing to travel, as long as it doesn't hurt their RPI.

We have played true non-conference, non P-5 road games this year, so it's possible. We've played at Temple and Dayton this season, at UCONN every other year, and some others, but those games are often close to the hometowns of our players. We even played at Alabama State last season since we had a player from Montgomery. Our current player closest to Vermillion is Brea Beal from Rock Island, Il. Not particularly close, but that would be a driveable game for her family.

When I went to SF for the Regional in '16, I flew from Columbia to Omaha and rented a car. I could have flown into Mpls, also, but the fares were higher.

Nothing quite like a trip to the northern Great Plains in the middle of December. Hopefully we could keep it above zero for you, but no guarantees.

I’m worried about this one because it seems like a combination of the top level athleticism of Clemson combined with the skill of Indiana, both of whom we lost to last year. I think this may be one of the tougher matchups for us of any team in the country.

Warren Nolan has us losing 64-84
Massey has us losing 65-78
So both have us getting our offense shut down. I think our arc shooting and free-throw shooting is our main opportunity to pull the upset. They will have a big size advantage in the paint, obviously.

We need to get to the charity stripe early and often. Like @cityleague said, you don't draw fouls by being passive.
