Thursday night game at home. This is a must-win game for the Yotes, if we want to be taken seriously in the conference race. Back in Indiana we lost 59-70. We can't lay an egg like that tomorrow.
#275(NET) Purdue-Fort Wayne 9-11(2-3) #6 Summit #183(NET) South Dakota........12-8(3-3) #5 Summit
Massey has us winning 77-69 Warren Nolan has a win 79-73

PFW has only beaten us and Western Illinois in conference play.
They lead the league in forcing turnovers (13.7/gm), and in steals (7.1/gm) They have a good scoring defense, and defense in general.
They are the worst shooting team in the conference (all categories), and have a weak offense in general. They turn the ball over just as much as they force it (0.00 TO margin)
They both commit and draw the fewest fouls in the conference.

Yeah, I think they are still a team that WANTS to hit a lot of threes, they just are not shooting at a good efficiency. They have the 2nd highest attempts (NDSU is higher), and the worst 3PT% (32.1). Looking at last year, here are their best efficiency 3-Point shooters: # | player | 2019 | 2020 | 33 | M Weir | .473 | transfer DII | 13 | M Holba | .431 | .330 | 32 | K Harrell | .397 | graduated | 55 | J Konchar | .381 | graduated | 10 | D Montgomery | .368 | transfer DII |
Here's their best efficiency 3-point shooters this year: # | player | 2020 | class | 2 | B Patrick | .373 | junior | 1 | J Godfrey | .340 | soph | 41 | M DeBerry | .338 | senior | 13 | M Holba | .330 | senior | 15 | D Billups | .308 | freshman |

Simpson with an early 3. I'm really anxious to see if we get another strong performance out of him. This feels like a game we should win comfortably, but we already found a way to be embarrassed by this team. Interesting to see the first rematch of league play.

48-29 at half. Wow. Fort Wayne can't buy a bucket. Coyotes on Pace for 96.

48-29 at half. Simpson 4/5 for 11 points. Loving this so far.
That alley oop to end the half. So beautiful. I guess I didn't realize Peterson could do that. So happy to see the offense rolling again.

The scoring/shooting distribution between our starters tonight was phenomenal and encouraging. Any one of our starters could have a bad night shooting and we should win against most teams in the conference. I'm sure that's what Todd had been aiming for.

Also nice to see the bench getting involved early and often. It's something we were missing early on in conference and has the potential to make us so much more dangerous as a team. I'm a fan of what Chisum brings to the table; he plays with so much energy and Goodrich is a very good defender. He's awfully strong for a freshman.

Defensive intensity by the Yotes from start to finish was GREAT!!! As others have mentioned ball distribution on offense was also very impressive!! Excellent overall performance that really shut down PFW! Go Yotes!!

I'm hoping this is a better picture of this team's identity, and their late noncon/early conference lull was just some growing pains. Also Hags and Simpson need to stay healthy.
