Looks like there'll be another new face coaching in the MVFC next fall as Youngstown coach Bo Pelini is headed to LSU as defensive coordinator. He must really be held in high regard around the country because his Nebraska defenses and those at YSU could be torched at times. I realize LSU already has a national championship with Bo heading up the defense. Wonder if Carl get the YSU gig? That is supposedly is Bo's desire although I don't know if he has the juice at Youngstown to make demands like that.

Bo's defenses were pretty darn good when he had elite level talent. His drive to recruit wasn't high, but at a school like LSU it's like the easy button getting athletes.

Does this give rise to the old nature vs nurture discussion ?

Does this give rise to the old nature vs nurture discussion ? Perhaps, but I think there are plenty of examples of coaches that underachieve with elite talent, too. I think one lesson he has learned is his own limitations in "coaching up" less talented rosters. JMO I don't really like the guy, but I think he is a far better DC than HC. Think of this as bucking the "Peter Principle".
