Tip off at noon, game is on ESPN3.
Omaha sits at 5-2 and in 3rd place. Their last 4 games have not been kind - losses at USD and Denver, followed by 5 and 4 point wins at home against WIU and Fort Wayne.
A win gives us the season sweep over Omaha and would put us in 3rd place, a big step towards securing a top-2 seed in the tournament. A loss would have us staring at the middle of the pack and rooting for some favorable results to help us out. Big game today.

Man, lots of buzz on this board after that big win. I thought we blew it. Clutch FTs by Simpson. That's a big win.

I thought we had blown it too. Three straight turnovers in the final minutes is not a recipe for victory. I guess we can thank Omaha for the dumb foul and Mr. Simpson for the super clutch free throws. I imagine he was loving that against his home state school, especially after the "wet spot" on the court that took forever to clean up and all the Omaha players chirping at him before he shot them. This team has got to learn to come out of the gate faster though, especially on the road. Can't continually be getting down double digits in the first half. Baxter must have some sort of hex on USD three point attempts as well. Between the men's and women's games this week, they were a combined 5 of 38.

Easily the most stressful game I've watched in a while. Started the game 0/8 from the field and down 12-0, shot 5/21 from 3 on the day, had Hagedorn draw a critical 3rd foul before halftime, and still managed to dig all the way out of that hole and take a comfortable lead with a couple minutes left only to blow it with 3 straight turnovers and a couple bad shots. Thankfully Simpson was making big plays all day and had the opportunity to make the biggest one of the day by going the length of the court again with just a few seconds left to draw a foul and take the lead with his free throws. Finished the day 24/25 from the line and needed every single one of them. I'll say once again that I don't care how we have to get a win on the road. Omaha had won 16 straight at home going into this one, something I didn't realize until the commentators told me about the 7th longest active streak in Division 1. The Yotes have now won 7 of 8 in a row and are in excellent position to push for a top 2 seed after taking both road games this week. 6 games left, 3 at home, and 2 of the last 6 against a pretty mediocre looking UND team. No more back-to-back road games and our biggest obstacle to a bye is against NDSU at home (which is a game I fully expect to win). Honestly, after this win I would bet heavily that the top seed is decided when we visit Brookings in 3 weeks. One game at a time though. Go beat the Fighting Somethings in Canada next Saturday. Man, lots of buzz on this board after that big win. I thought we blew it. Clutch FTs by Simpson. That's a big win. Super Bowl prep? I don't know. I spent the entire game making chili for tonight (with a can of Boulevard Wheat because go KC). Wouldn't have taken the entire game if this team hand't kept me hanging on every single play.

The Yotes were 24-25 from the FT line for 96% and needed every one! Hard fought game by both teams! Gritty road win!! Go Yotes!!

The Coyotes should be a better team in crunch time. They did almost blow it but any win in the game was a very good win. The Jacks have trouble winning in Omaha and the Mavs had a long home court win streak. I would say of this one and the NDSU one that the Coyotes deserved to be 1-1 and are just that.

Anyone hear on the video feed the Omaha announcers call it embarrassing the way Lee was working the refs or was I hearing things? Just thought it was interesting as I haven’t seen Lee coach live.

I didn't hear that, but could have missed it. I generally thought the announcers were pretty good and professional. Not excessively homers. Very watchable. Similar to MidcoSN (if you aren't a thin-skinned [Jacks] fan that whines if they don't get sunshine pumped constantly). As far as Lee goes, riding the refs seems to be standard protocol for many (not all) D-1 BB coaches. I couldn't say where Lee lands on the spectrum, but he certainly isn't the worst of them. It's like a "game within the game" or a "meta-game" where coaches think they will get screwed if they don't speak up for their team. Sometimes it works, where coaches point out infractions that would have been missed otherwise. Sometimes coaches get a technicals, too. That doesn't help anything. I'll follow this with a nice "coaches behaving badly" montage...

The chair toss. I just can't believe that's something that actually happened. Bob Knight is a straight lunatic.

NDSU @ UNO this week looks large in the standings.
I can understand people getting frustrated with Lee on the sidelines. He annoys me at times constantly yelling “FOUL” on what seems like every play. I would grow very tired of it as an official. He sounds like someone in the bleachers.

Some can do it without being very demonstrative and fans don't even realize it's going on. He's far from the worst I've seen in Vermillion this season.
