Great job Lady Yotes!! Similar game that they had in Las Vegas when they beat Northern Illinois by 43(91-48). They were hitting 3s (had 17 tying a school record) and they also played super D for the whole game with reserves playing a lot the last Q and a half! NI is 6-11 in the MAC and 10-18 overall with a game today against Toledo then the tournament.

I've seen some player profiles where when asked "what do you want to accomplish before leaving USD"? Multiple players said they want to win the Summit League tournament.
They looked motivated today.

Motivation won't be an issue. I think the only thing that could beat this team at this point might be themselves if they put too much pressure on themselves and get inside their own heads. With the team leaders being such cool cucumbers, I just don't see that happening.

Even though the Coyotes are the favorites I would say a Jacks team playing well with a big crowd behind them is still capable of winning a game again South Dakota. Things rarely go as planned for SD when Red meets Blue at this tourney. The Coyotes may very well win it this year because they are the best team there by a considerable margin but we have seen things play out before that didn't leave Yote fans feeling too good. A higher (better) seeded Coyote team has never beaten a lower seeded Jacks team (men or women) at this tourney. Before I am feeling too confident about anything I need to see that happen at least one time. I guess for karma sake the football team had never defeated the Jacks in the D1 era either but that finally happened this year so maybe this is simply the year of bad trends being broken.

I could use a little help - was unable to watch when we played at ORU? What was the story there? How did we contain Lippe (sp?)? What should we be paying attention to today?

Over the last couple of years ORU seems to play a style that takes the Yotes a bit to adjust too. They have some size and Kenni Jo Lippe likes to drive the ball to the basket. The last game(at ORU) came on only 1 days of rest (Thu - Sat), traveling to Tulsa and coming off an fast paced game with Western Illinois. Katie Kirkhart had a career game (22 points - Ave 4.4/ppg) and Mo Brotons played well in the post. Both teams played well.
Things that are different. The Pentagon should be more Yote friendly, ORU played a hard fought game yesterday (Yotes had a day rest), The Yote starters are very well rested, and after how they played the first game should feel comfortable shooting in the building. Who controls the paint and how the refs decide to call the game could be the difference in this one. Intangible... The Yotes appear pretty determined to find what ever it takes to win and it doesn't matter if it is a one point or 59 point win. Any one of 5 or 6 of their players can put the team on their back and make it happen.

Seems like one of the things that makes Lippe so good is her ability to draw fouls when driving to the basket. Just good technique, leaning into defenders, IDK. Whatever it is, she does it well. I think the way those fouls are called or not will be a factor.
In the WIU/ORU game yesterday there were long stretches of no scoring (both teams), followed by bursts of scoring. I like our offensive consistency vs a team like that.
