We practically threw in the towel when we were up 10 points. Multiple missed free throws. The cycle continues to repeat itself. coyote men’s basketball is excruciating.

lee was handed a great team this year and he can’t win one game in the SLT. Pretty damning sign of what's to come. Zero consistency from this team in about any games all season.

Yikes. This was our best chance with the 7 seed looming. We threw away our chances with this group of guys. I’m worried with what Lee has brewing for us. Seat has to be getting slightly warmer. 0-2 in tournament play.

We’ve been to 1 title game in all of our time in the SL. UND now has a very real shot at the title Game and the Title in only their second year. Two things for next year that we need to see happen, Bench contributions and better DEFENSE. Okay mini rant done.

The much bigger third thing for next year is find a way to replace this outgoing senior class. We have talent waiting in the wings, but there are massive holes to fill.

now it is time to give Lee a 5 year extention in the eyes of many. the wise thing would be to cut the losses now. in actuality we will have at least 2 more years of him. craig smith is already a speck on the horizon and the program did absolutely nothing to further the momentum he created.
the coyotes have so much talent that went to waste. this is one of the worst coached teams i have seen. when the team started passing to start the second half i thought they had an awakening. but that disappeared and the one on one selfish ball returned. the coyotes got exactly what they deserved tonight. we as fans deserve better. for a first round game not against the jacks i thought the turoutt was good and the crowd was cheering pretty good as well. does anyone remember at the beggining of the 2nd half how the yotes passed it around and found peterson for an open layup. that is how the team needed to play. it is actually a little harder then usual to cheer for this team as they play "me" ball way too much.

This team had so much talent and won plenty of games, but excruciating is exactly how I'd describe the season. This was a very fitting finale. Yet another trademark early deficit, claw back from it, then get complacent and piss away the game.

That sure felt like the state game from 3 years ago. We had a big 2nd half lead then the next 9 fouls get called on us. From 12:30 to 3 min mark we picked up 9 fouls and I don't think they had one. Pretty much every drive they had ended with a foul. No such luck for Kelly and Stanley on the other end. Then the final few minutes we were our own worst enemy.
I am very worried about the years to come. Lee is going to need considerable more talent than the opposition to get it done and I don't see him recruiting that much talent. The league was way down this year and our path was wide open. So frustrating.

open invitation to the todd lee supporters. give us a reason you have optimism that this program is going to get better. real concrete objective reasoning not coolaid drinking red goggle analysis.

A lot of blame being thrown at Lee. How about the senior class underwhelming with the exception of Kelly. This was supposed to be the year the yotes make a run at the conference. All the talent on the roster and the still under perform.
The game at ORU. We were watching and I told my wife, "watch how this game ends, this will be the story of the season." Wasn't wrong there. They haven't looked good since. Did Todd Lee just quit coaching? I don't think so. Players didn't make plays. Simple as that. Hagedorn was in national conversations this year. Where did that go in the last 6 weeks?
At least we don't have to continue the argument about if it's better to beat state or win the SLT. Neither is happening this year.
The fun is just beginning folks. We have a bare cupboard for next season. State was the 2 seed playing a bunch of freshmen and sophomores. Look out in the next few years.
I'm not going to the men's games next year. I just got home at 11:30 and I'm pissed I even went. Between the 9 dollar beers and the choke job the yotes put on, I just don't think it's worth it.
Back at it tomorrow at noon for the girls game. Excited for that one since they generally play up to the best of their abilities. Still have to fine tune my excuse for leaving work at 11 on a Monday, but I'll figure it out.
On another note, all the people saying they were hoping state would win last night should have been at the game. Every state fan in there was cheering for the Sioux.
Drank a bunch of beers tonight. Forgive my 'hot takes'.
Let's go women's team!

Anyone notice how Lee was well behaved on the sideline tonight? And the UND coach was a lunatic who drew a technical? Funny how we finally get him to stop riding the refs and then there winds up being a large foul disparity in their favor.

Couple more thoughts:
This team peaked in November. Aside from smashing State in Vermillion we never got back to that level at the beginning of the season.
Umude seemed to regress this year, in spite of the additional support he was missing last year.
The underclassmen played very few minutes all year, even at the end of the year when you figure they've improved.
These all seem like signs of a poor coaching staff. I'm wondering if Lee is a guy who is better suited to be an assistant.

Todd Lee got a 3 year contract. After these first 2 years, how in the hell does Lee ask Herbster for a contract extension with a straight face?

Todd Lee got a 3 year contract. After these first 2 years, how in the hell does Lee ask Herbster for a contract extension with a straight face? well if you think about it nielson got an extension after a worse year than lee had. for whatever reason nielson walks on water here. lee deserves an extention if nielson got one. personally neither should or should have gotten one. neither program is on an acceptable level. we are not getting our moneys worth so why not just hire cheap coaches as we could get just as much out of them. take the money saved and give it to plitzuweit to keep her here. we are a school that thrives with our womens athletics. men not so much.

Disappointing end to a really frustrating year - imagine how tough it is for the kids on the team. Lost the game in the first 8 minutes, then roared back and won the game in over the next 20 minutes, then lost the game again in the final 4 minutes. Roller coaster.
