This being the case - lets get a top four seed and have them play in Vermillion - hotels no longer matter for fans and with Sioux City being wide open the teams can stay there.

Things have escalated so quickly today that I'm starting to wonder if there even will be a tournament. NCAA might call off the whole season before the week is done.

I could have sworn I heard a week or ten days ago that this whole thing was a hoax.

I could have sworn I heard a week or ten days ago that this whole thing was a hoax. That was until Tom Hanks and a ball player tested positive. Now it's for real. Gotta say I'm pretty paranoid now about having attended the SLT and coming back to work today around a bunch of sick people.

In happier news, Here's the post-game pressers for both teams. I like linking to Youtube because it's easy from this forum. Unfortunately, our USD Youtube channel is slow getting those videos up, so I had to get them from the SDSU Youtube channel. Same vids, different intro.

A couple of XnO's comments from AJ that I thought were interesting. (maybe those on here that understand Xs and Os a little better on here can comment...
On the Jacks' defense:
"Individually, I thought we defended well. Didn't get beat much on dribble-penetration. Any dribble-penetration they had came on some ball screens. We did a few different things, probably three different things on ball screens. We tried to mix that up, and give them some different looks. They still hit a couple of key threes in the second half that were really important."
"That's kinda what they do. At the end of the day, they're a ball-screen team (in a different way than others). In close games, that's what they go to, and they did that today. I thought we did well on that part of it. If we had rebounded better, I think it really would have changed the game, for sure."

Duke & Kansas are suspending athletic activities for the foreseeable future. This does not look good for the men's and women's NCAA basketball tournaments. If the tournaments get cancelled, it would be so disappointing for the lady Yotes.

Very disappointing, but you know what? Ladies got to end the season on a big win against State and go out as champions. Top 15 ranking. The best women's basketball team in USD history. That is something they will have forever.

What a disappointing way to end things. Still one hell of a season. I'll crown them best in league history.

What a heartbreaking end of the season for everybody from South Carolina and Oregon down to the worst 16 seed. For all those seniors who don't get to try to make one last run, I'm just sad.

At least it is doubly good they beat State for the Summit League Tournament championship so there's never any doubt their ticket was punched to the big dance!!
Thank you soooo much Lady Coyotes for a fabulous season and all the incredible memories!!!
And seniors thank you for your leadership of this team and we all wish you the very best on your future endeavors!!!

For this group of seniors this is a bitter pill to swallow. Hopefully the others will get their chance next season and for seasons to come. For this fan I'm pretty cool with their last game being the one they had! It was more thrilling to witness than any game against Western Kentucky (for example). Who knows, maybe the NCAA will try and make it up to the schools who made it in by granting an extra year of eligibility for the seniors? A guy can dream right?
