Unfortunately, without a March tournament we might as well start discussing next season. Lamb, Sjerven, Arens all back as starters. I would guess Korngable starts next season too based on experience.
Questions going into the season: 1. Anyone transfer out? 2. Will Kunzer snag a spot? 3. Or is Krull possibly good enough to snag pg? 4. How well can Peplowski play the Frederick role off the bench? 5. What will the rotations be? How deep do they play into the bench? 6. Does Hempe heal and become a weapon? What about Geubert? Sankey? 7. There are some excellent recruits coming in. How many are ready for playing time? 8. Can Lamb average 15ppg?
What questions does anyone else have?

Lots of things to ponder. Here are my way to early predictions. Krull fills the McKeever roll & Hempe fills the Duffy role. Korngable, Ugofsky, Sankey and Kunzer expand their roles in minutes. Peplowski has really been working hard during this past season and will be given the opportunity to fill in the Frederick's role. I have watched Morgan Hanson and Kyah Watson play many games and they are very talented and athletic. They have the ability to add a little something to this team and help keep the minutes per game on everyone. Mazurek is an outlier here. I haven't been able to see enough film on her play to see how much of an impact she may have on the team. Go Yotes!!!

Mazurek was the 2nd leading scorer on an Eden Prairie squad that made the semifinals of Minnnesota`a largest class. Averaged 13.2 ppg and 7.8 rpg. Shot over 57% from the field, 74% from the free throw line and made 17 of 32 3 point attempts on the season. I think she will fit into Dawn's system quite well. Don't forget she is listed at 6` 4".

Two biggest questions are Krull and Lamb. Lamb is an amazing scorer and I think can get to AT LEAST 15ppg. But the question is whether she can dish it out. As others have pointed out about our team assist/turnover ratio this year, it wasn't great outside of Duffy. And I'm concerned that Lamb is capable. So that leaves Krull or maybe Kunzer to fill that role? In any event, it's simply going to be hard to lose the country's mid major player of they year. People don't realize how much of the offense was generated through her and I think that's going to be hard to replicate. I have more hope that Arens can fill a piece of that role than Lamb or one of the guards this year. But I'm sure Dawn realizes this and will have them ready.

And I also think Guebert could have a strong role to play.

I have watched a great deal of Krull video. My take is that she is a defensive minded, pass first, point guard that can also score. I can really see her facilitating the offense. Dawn is a very smart coach and will figure out how to put the ladies in the right position to be successful. I think we will be surprised when it is all said and done!!!

Thing about Lamb is that she's probably never been coached to be a pass first kind of player. Coming out of a tiny high school like Sully Buttes where she was most likely the first, second, third and fourth scoring option and then on to USD where Duffy, Allison Arens and others were firmly in place as assist leaders and facilitators and it's a role she's never been thrust into. Given her natural talent for the game, it would be my guess that if she was coached up to contribute more in this area she would be more than capable.

Just a couple of takes:
I could see Jeniah in a Taylor-type post role off the bench.
A Duffy role isn't really a thing. She was a unique kind of player it will take several others to together fill that role.
Liv might be another option for a PG type role, or backup PG. Her A/TO ratio has always been good, and she set some assist records in hs.
Guebert and a healthy Hempe will be hard to keep on the bench with their deadly arc-shooting, but with five talented seniors to feed, who knows.

FWIW I didn’t mean to slight her. Just figured with Sjerven and Peplowski minutes would be hard to come by. But if she is good enough she will play.

It didn't seem to me that you slighted her in the least. Just your observations. I hope she continues her upward trend on growth in the skills area as Coach P pointed out when she signed. I would love to have to worry about finding her minutes because of the play on the court.

From what I saw I think Ugovsky is the one that will play Frederick's role. They seem to be very similar type players and Jeniah looked impressive in the minutes she got. I think she would explode with more minutes. The player that I think will be the closest to replacing Duffy will be Morgan Hanson as long as she is ready enough as a true freshman. Watson is probably like a Trimboli. I would actually be slightly disappointed if Krull didn't have a major role on this team as a freshman. She could be a freshman of the year candidate in the Summit (I hope).

To my eyes Ugofsky is more of a forward at 5’11” and Peplowski is more of a center at 6’2”. Sjerven is 6’3”, and Mazurek is I believe also 6’3”. If you were looking for a comparable for Ugofsky, it might be Bridget Arens but maybe with more range.

I feel like Coach P likes to run a 4-1 motion most of the time, with only one post player on the floor at a time. I think that's one of the reasons Peplowski red-shirted in the first place. Too many post players ahead of her. If that is the assumption, Ugofsky seemed to play that post role with the second team this year. I don't recall ever seeing Frederick or Sjerven on the floor at the same time as her (I could be wrong). She doesn't lack for physicality in the post, even if she lacks an inch or two in height. Of course, posts are expected to be versatile in this system anyway, so it's somewhat relative, I suppose.

Sjerven/Peplowski at the 5 most often. Peplowski is/was the one to go against Frederick/Sjerven in practices. Mazurek also at a 5 but will need time to adjust to college ball as well. Pretty sure Ugofsky will see more time and do well with her time but not likely at the 5 spot unless playing a smaller team. We shall see. Also think Lamb more than capable of being a great distributor if that is asked of her.
