Why keep the fun limited to football? There's no sports to watch, so let's remember some! Below is the link to vote on the 2010s All-Decade Coyote Men's Basketball team www.surveymonkey.com/r/22GXRX9Notes: In the name of including stats, I have included less players than I did in my football poll. I think I hit everyone that would garner a vote but there is an OTHER option if I didn't get someone you were looking for. I've split the voting with the intent of having a team of 3 guards and 2 forwards, regardless of how well it would actually work on the floor. If enough people participate we will be able to name 1st and 2nd teams. I included a couple things beyond selecting a team. Let me know what your favorite win was and who your favorite player is, doesn't matter who or why! Maybe you really liked Tyler Flack because he played even bigger than his size would suggest, or Adam Thoseby because he was an Australian playmaker, or Jack Foley because he was a walk-on from Centerville waiting for his chance to play D1 basketball, or Carlton Hurst because you would never expect someone that size to dunk like that. You tell me! Please let me know if you have any feedback and try to have some fun with this. I intend on moving onto the WBB team soon. I can re-tool the poll if you guys have any ideas.

Real good list. Above the only person that I might add would be Jake Thomas. He was only played at USD for one year, but he put up some pretty good numbers.

Real good list. Above the only person that I might add would be Jake Thomas. He was only played at USD for one year, but he put up some pretty good numbers. I did think about him. I forgot he had two seasons here (the second is what brought him into this decade). It seems likely that if he had stuck around that he would have been a no-brainer for this team. Very talented player. I believe he wound up being a consistent 6th man for some very good Marquette teams that had some success in the tournament. Added to the list.

Without spoiling anything, I'm so happy that one of the early responses shared my response for their favorite player.

Not to be a nit-picker, but what qualifies a guy for inclusion in this decade? If it's that he simply played any part of his career in the decade, then I would make a case for adding Tyler Cain to the list. His senior season was the 2009-10 year. If he's included, he should be an almost certain first-team selection. Those of us who remember him playing will recall his utter dominance as a shot blocker. To this day, he holds the top four USD single-season shot blocking records, and no one else is even close. He blocked shots with the same domination that Chuck Iverson snared rebounds in the early 70's. Cain was the Great West POY and DPOY his senior season, which was the second year of our D-I transition. If he is eligible, imagine an All-Tyler "big man" category of Flack, Hagedorn and Cain! If you have lost track of Cain and his stellar professional career overseas, catch up with him on Wiki. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyler_Cain (I hope this hyperlinks when I post...sorry if not.)

I put 2019-20 as the end of the decade, which would make the start of the decade the 2010-11 season. 10 full seasons.

Appreciate the clarification. Tyler Cain was a beast out there. I also remember Steve Smith being a force too. Their senior year was my freshman year. I only caught games because I was selling programs or running a camera. Dominated the Great West though.

I recall him being pretty inconsistent. I do seem to recall he did have a huge game against state in Verm though. I'll always remember him for that.

All ill conceived, poorly executed driving layup misses are still referred to as a "Juevol" at my house.

All ill conceived, poorly executed driving layup misses are still referred to as a "Juevol" at my house. I don't remember his style of play very well, but we've had at least a couple guys over the years who every single time they get the ball I'm ready for a drive to the hoop no matter what.
