I have a question for everyone’s opinion. Maybe I’ve brought it up before but I’m to lazy to look it up.
There’s no question the Covid-19 deal will have an impact on our budget. Guesstimates run from $750,000 up to $1.2M or more. If the department rolled out a one time “extra” fundraising campaign, or a booster interested in getting them back to ground zero financially started a campaign, I have 2 questions. First, would you make a donation for Coyote sports to get back on track? Secondly, do you think such a campaign would be successful?
We have made a $90M investment in facilities and upgrades, and it would be a shame to be handcuffed by an amount of 1.5% of that investment because of an unforeseen pandemic. What’s everyone’s thoughts on this?

I honestly think it would depend on what was happening in the world and economic situation in our region and the nation. If it was post election, the virus had subsided, and the economy felt like it was back on some steady footing, then I think it would be successful. Especially if there was some sort of double or triple provision that if small donors raised $100k and one or two other donors each pitched in $100k, then I believe it could work.
If the virus is still causing shutdowns and states were to be in lockdown and the stock market had tanked and unemployment was increasing, then it would prove difficult IMO.

Personally, I would like to hear how the dept has tightened the belt, cost saving measures, etc. Boosters can't be asked to renew HP memberships, season tickets for no games, or have an additional fundraising campaign without a little transparency from the dept.

I'd consider an extra donation, but feel a campaign at this time may be poorly received. Many have suffered hardships and who knows what the future has in store (I anticipate the worst is yet to come, economically).
