Sounds like both SD teams have some things to work on, offensively. Both teams seem to be playing decent defense. We'll need that defense to avoid upsets from the likes of NDSU and Denver. I only caught the last few minutes. And that stretch was a combination of a rock fight and pee wee league basketball. K-State had no idea how to dribble or pass - it was amazing. The line drives SDSU was throwing up from 3 may have literally put dents in the back board and rim. Everyone was moving so slowly that I assumed they were all really tired from a physical game (comparing it to the pace of the Yotes game, which I thought was slow and rough). I may need to take part of that back. I'm watching some of the SDSU/UNI game, and though it is not PC to say it, SDSU is just simply slow. When they sprint up the court they just don't run fast - they other team is out-pacing at maybe all 5 positions, and that includes the opponent dribbling the ball. Very odd.

it looks like the Jacks minus Frost or the Denny are a very average team.
If williston can play that would be great and i dont think she should red shirt either.

If Williston gets immediate eligibility, don’t be expecting that she will be Sjerven 2.0. I think that’s an unrealistic expectation to set.

This is going to be a very interesting season in summit WBB. NDSU suffered their first loss of the season this weekend to the same Iowa St team that SDSU beat, but SDSU lost to the same UNI team that NDSU beat by 17. So what does that mean? It means SDSU is good at home (bad for us) and not as much on the road so far and it means NDSU is improving quite nicely (good for the league, bad for us as potential upsets). I’m all for the league improving in the non-conference part of the season. USD has shown it’s possible to be a two bid league, and that a school in the summit had an actual chance of being a host school and a top 4 seed. Now is the time for the rest of the league to step up so we can carry this momentum forward. And I’m glad NDSU is actually doing it.

Seems like the MVC and the Summit's top teams are relatively similar this year? Mo State might be a cut above, though. Lots of our two conferences' teams playing each other this year. Would be an interesting comparison.
Here's the Current Massey Ratings for some of the upper teams:
20 Missouri State
44 USD 48 Drake 53 SDSU 68 Illinois State 72 UNI
95 Valpo 106 NDSU 110 Bradley
NDSU did beat Northern Iowa, but I'm not sure that happens if they play multiple times. NDSU hit a very high FG%. I wish USD was able to play another MVC team this year. Those games with Mo State and Drake in recent years were epic. Bradley won't be a pushover.

Rabbits get a solid win at home vs a very good Drake squad. 87-73 Selland with a career high 21 points and the double-double. Balanced scoring. Clearly they play much better at home. The Yotes will have a challenge in back-to-back contests there.

Does anyone know if there is a potential impact player that any of the SL teams will start using? I don't think SDSU has one that was sitting out.

SDSU doesn't have any transfers that were sitting out for this year. About the only thing this year will do is allow us to wait for Kallie Thiesen to get healthy and work her back into the line up. She hasn't played this year and likely they would have just redshirted her in a normal year. Us fans don't really know her status, so hopefully she can get healthy and be back in the rotation by the end of the season. She was injured fairly early last year so not sure why the recovery is delayed, but hopefully she can get on track with her recovery.

Finally had a chance to watch the SDSU win over Missouri State.
Overall, I’d say they won with discipline. Nothing flashy. Ball control, tight passes, well-coordinated defense. Mayah is deadly partly because she is such a good passer. You can’t just key on her, and yet she still always gets her points.
Mo state was easily the most athletic team, and played an aggressive ball-hawking defense, but weren’t as disciplined.
Also, they went straight at #32, Franklin. Got their best player in foul trouble early.

I'm sure we'll see a lot of teams going at Sjerven early in games to try and get her in foul trouble.

Looks like our non-conference game vs NAIA Midland is the final one for the whole conference. The outcome of that game will likely not affect much, so I thought I'd take a look at how various sources think of our conference:
AP Poll: #28 SDSU
Coaches Poll: #25 SDSU #40 NDSU
Massey Ratings: #40 SDSU #49 USD #89 NDSU
#193 Kansas City #195 Omaha #231 UND #234 Denver #256 ORU #257 WIU
RealtimeRPI: #31 SDSU
#98 USD #153 NDSU #189 Omaha #201 Kansas CIty #216 ORU #257 UND #276 WIU #279 Denver
