Yeah, I’d say the only way she keeps her job at this point might be to show some improvement in these last few games. Unfortunately UND has both SD teams up next. The NET ranks the Hawks higher than their conference standing. I think that’s due to all the close losses.
You guys have finally won a couple games recently, so maybe she has turned a corner. The AD will have to make that call. If it were me, I’d lean towards a fresh start. A new coach will be able to blow up the roster a little without the personal ties to players.
I agree you need a dynamic PG and some shooters. If you can bring those in and keep Fleec, Zander and Jarnot in the fold, you might have a quick turnaround. Seems possible with the right coach.

I would like to add you missed the Lane girl for us she only sophomore and was hurt most of this season but she is going to be very good post player for us. She already has made difference for us in the last few weeks and she would be one of the players with good point guard would even show her ability to play down low. I watched your game Saturday against the Jacks and i think you get them to neutral court you have very good chance of beating them. I see its just not us that get homered at Frost arena. The problem i have is how announcing just covers this up and how good the jacks are at there home court and they do have good teams but couple critical calls in sure can help change the outcome. I expect some home calls but not always at critical time in the game which seems to happen at Frost.

Some interesting games next weekend:
UND goes to Omaha to determine who makes the SLT. Not televised.
SDSU goes to Fargo to determine if they sweep the conference. MidcoSN2 and ESPN.
ORU and Kenni Jo Lippe visit the SCSC to finally allow a Coyote home game. ORU always seems to play the Yotes tough. First game on Saturday on GoYotes.com. Sunday's game on Midco.

So by my calculations, the colored teams above have locked in their seeds. Jacks win a tie with USD H2H. WIU wins a tie with Denver H2H. UND is out of the tournament.
Denver and Omaha can switch places if Omaha wins both remaining games against Denver. A split in that series would result in Denver at the 6-seed and ORU winning the tie with Omaha due to their win over KC.
NDSU and KC could trade places, but KC would have to beat SDSU twice (not likely).
So we will play ORU in the first round, and NDSU/Denver in the 2nd. We will get to dodge Omaha and Western/KC.

Ah man, that is no good. I don't like any player ever getting injured, much less top players in this league. Really feel for her - injuries have plagued her college career. (Its possible this is old news, but I just saw it for the first time.)

Yikes. I hope she can come back from this like she has in the past. Amazing local player. This is worse than the Jacks losing Friedel, with the likely golden opportunity they are potentially going to earn in the tournament (6 seed). I think they still will get to the championship game without Selland. They just have to beat Kansas City three times and Omaha once.
This improves our chances of a second consecutive SLT title, but not the way I'd like to get it. They could still beat us without Selland, of course. But I'd put money on the Yotes in that game on a neutral floor.
So if they do win out, I have to imagine they keep the high seed. If they lose in the SLT championship, maybe they drop a couple spots. 8-seed perhaps? If they were to somehow lose to anyone else, I think they still get an at-large. Maybe a 9 or 10 seed? I don't remember if there are usually any 10-seed at-large teams.
*edit: Creme currently has USD as an at-large 10-seed, so I guess that answers that.

two Summit WBB games on today: 2:00PM CST Omaha @ Denver STATS / VIDEO STREAM5:00PM CST KC @ SDSU STATS / ESPN3 / MidcoSN Omaha needs a sweep to move from the 8 seed to the 6-seed, and avoid playing the Jacks in the first round of the SLT. Jacks have already clinched the season title and 1-seed, but would like to protect their potentially high NCAA seed and at-large bid. KC can move from an SLT 4-seed up to a 3-seed by sweeping the Jacks. Even a split with the Jacks would be a major accomplishment for them, and a feather in their caps. (Neither is very likely)

So am I in a dream or did the jackrabbits lose? . I’d call it a nightmare scenario for Jacks fans...

Are they still an at large after scoring 40 and losing to the #8 seed?

*shrugs* I’ll guess they still get an at-large. Maybe a 7 or 8-seed?
If we win the Summit, maybe we move up a little too. Like a 9-seed?
I don’t love the 8 or 9-seed for winning two games, but I think a tournament appearance will be welcomed however it comes, for the Yotes.

A brief history of the first game for the 1 seed:
2020 USD 99 Omaha 40 2019 SDSU 88 Fort Wayne 50 2018 USD 83 Fort Wayne 32 2017 WIU 82 Denver 39 2016 USD 73 Denver 54 2015 USD 78 Fort Wayne 70 2014 No game. 1 seed got a bye. 2013 SDSU 67 Oakland 53 2012 SDSU 80 Fort Wayne 5 (I assume this is a misprint in the program and I'm not going to fix it) 2011 ORU 108 WIU 79
In the last 10 years you can see that the 1 seed never gets challenged. By far the closest game was USD by 8 over Fort Wayne in 2015. Looking through the history it appears that this is the first time an 8 seed has ever won a game in the womens tournament.
