Since I have kids I always seem to be exhausted on Christmas morning. Doctored coffee for me. What say you?

Just like any day, we start the day with black folgers. Don't you dare try to sneak milk, sugar, or anything else in there.
Got a couple expensive import beers for later in the day though. Making a pot of chilli for our dinner. Going to be hands down the quietest Christmas I've ever had. Might even go back to work on Monday feeling relaxed lol.

coffee is always the best regardless of what day it is. I can't handle alcohol early in the morning so orange juice would probably rank 2nd.

I feel like the dad in The Christmas Story today, so coffee - and lots of it.

I doctor my coffee, although I will probably have to switch to black for my post-Christmas diet.
One thing I absolutely recommend for any of you coffee drinkers is getting a small bean grinder. It may seem a little snobby but there is absolutely a huge difference in flavor and smoothness with fresh ground coffee. Once you have a routine it doesn’t even take that long. Like literally 30 seconds. My wife and I are addicted.

Normally? Coffee, black. Completely agree with grinding your own whole beans. Total game changer. Invest in a quality conical burr grinder. You can order beans online. There are so many options. Personally, I order via Amazon beans from a small shop in Texas. Best part is it really isn't that expensive. Much, much cheaper than going to Starbucks, Caribou, or Tim Hortons.
Today? Coffee & Bailey's.
Merry Christmas!

I'll have to look into a burr grinder, thanks for the tip. We grind beans daily, so probably time for us to invest in a nicer model. For anyone just starting into it, though, I'd say a blade grinder is just fine. They are cheaper and very fast and convenient. Low commitment to try it out. Also, I should look at ordering beans online. Never thought of that. The whole beans selection in Hy-Vee and Lewis is pretty scarce. I've heard World Market has a lot of selection, but never looked.

It is a great way to lend a bit of support to the local economy.

Grinding rules. I used to be lazy with K-Cups but they are more expensive. I still love me some Starbucks. I still haven't tasted anything I like consistently better. I am sure it is out there.

Thanks for all the comments! Now I have a bur grinder on my wishlist, and am researching local roasters (Coffea, The Breaks and The Source so far... good thing I work downtown!) Good stuff.

Look into a Capresso Infinity conical burr grinder. Should be able to pick one up for a little under $100.
