Just starting the thread/discussion. I haven't looked much at KC's stats this year, but they won the WAC last year, then lost some talent to graduation and transfers. I think they are pretty arc-reliant, which should mean they will fit right in this league. Seems so far like they will be a solid middle-tier team, but they haven't played a very difficult non-con, either.

Gotta go with the sweep. Coyotes 76-63 in game one in a squeaker but the Roos tire and the Coyotes win 84-59 in game 2.

Went back to watch the first quarter of the KC/UND game on ESPN+. KC is definitely undersized, but very quick and scrappy. Reminds me a little of the 2018 Yotes in that way. I don't think we lose either game, but they could give us a scare in one of the games if they are hitting from the arc. Basically the same could be said of many Summit teams, like WIU or NDSU.
I think one of the reasons KC has good offensive stats is that they play fast, with many quick possessions and forcing turnovers. We are a good ball control team, so hopefully we won't be as susceptible to that kind of game.
*edit: it was the 2018 team, not the 2017 team. When we lost Briget and Abby in the middle with no true center.

Video stream free from KC. No guarantees on quality, but hey: it's a free stream.

Massey has us winning 76-63.
I think we score just a little more than that. Maybe 80-65. Roos close the gap a little in the 4th Q.
Oh, yeah. Then there’s this. Check out the “Roos” hand sign....
Oh, hell nah. SMDH

Just clicked on the feed. Its 36-9 with over 5 minutes left in 2Q. KC looks a bit shell-shocked.

We have one foul at halftime. Don't think I've ever seen that before.

We have one foul at halftime. Don't think I've ever seen that before. Coach talked about defending without fouling in the pre-game. I guess they really meant it! On paper KC was an upper-half conference team, although their non-con was weak. Hopefully that is a good reflection of where this Yote team is at. Although I hate to say it, we really need to keep that scoring margin high for the NET rankings....

Korngable's efficiency in this game (but in quite a few games so far this season) has really been something to behold. She's just so composed. So rarely seems to get ahead of herself or out of what she wants to do.
And obviously the whole team's defensive effort is just top-notch. I have to say that I wasn't sure that this team would be able to be quite as good on the defensive end after losing the defenders they lost ... but they really haven't missed a beat. And they might even be better.

Scary to think of where they would be with a healthy Monica A. I remember Korngable crediting the upperclassmen with installing her work ethic in the gym, putting countless hours of work in outside of practice. Specifically mentioned Ciara and Alison Arens. 94-34 should help that "NET efficiency" stat.....

Korngable plays like the old quote about Oscar Robertson. You give him a 20-footer and he wants 18 ... 18 and he wants 15 ... 15 and he wants 12 ... and her mid-range J is so damn good that she's deadly from any of them. She's got to be a chore to guard.

To lose two junkyard dogs like McKeever and Arens and a Swiss Army knife like Duffy and a smart big underneath like Frederick and possibly be even better on that end says so much about those players and that staff.

Give a lot of credit to Coach P and her staff. I think USD is one of the better schools in the country for player development.
