Just starting the thread/discussion. I literally know nothing about the 2021 UMKC men's team.
Massey has us losing this game 65-68, so a pretty even match-up.
This game should go a long way towards understanding where this team is right now. Pasting Denver twice and beating the Jacks minus their two best players (and a career night from Stan) was awesome, but now we should see if we have actually turned a corner on the season. Are we a middle-tier Summit team? Can we challenge for a title? Do we have an identity and consistency? Let's find out.

I am gonna go with the split down in KC. I will take the Roos 84-76 in game 1 with the Yotes rebounding to win the second game 86-72.

Vegas Insider has the game starting at -2 KC, with the line now at -1.5 O/U 130.
Translation: Vegas thinks KC will win 65.75 to 64.25, or rounded to 66-64. Very low scoring.
Massey has the Roos winning 68-65. Similar.

Well, that wasn't a thing of beauty, but they got a W on the road with the two volume shooters combining for 7-24 from the field. Things just weren't easy, but they got a gritty win.

That would have been a frustrating one to lose. It seemed that we were in control the whole way. We had a double digit lead most of the way. That's a good sign We can get a win without shooting lights out from three. Hopefully we can finish the sweep tomorrow night.

Free throws made the difference, as they often do. Wish I could convince my kid of that. He watches too much NBA.

Take any kind of road win any time any place. Expect that tomorrow will be more of the same. For now...3-0 in conference.

It is hard to find too many faults with the conference season so far. Lets go out and take another one tomorrow to go to 4-0. I am impressed with the big improvement since the SDSU win.

The Coyotes struggled through the first half but luckily their defense held them to a 1 point lead. Now in the second half the Yotes are starting like the first half they had yesterday. 44-35 Coyotes early in the 2nd.

Big time win tonight by the Yotes. 68-62 Final. KC took a 1 point lead in the last couple of minutes or so but the Yotes finished strong. Umude took a vital charge with about 30 seconds left up 2. Great weekend with 2 close wins and a 4-0 Summit start. Who would have thunk it.

The Coyotes are starting to show when things are tight in crunch time that they are coming away with wins. Is it an over reaction to be optimistic or is it more of the quality of the opponents more than anything. I think it is probably some of both but a sense of optimism is probably warranted.

The team is starting to come together, with all the new faces, and it is encouraging to see other offensive options to Umude and AJ. Archambault and Fuller are helping to keep the defense honest.
The Coyote defense is impressive, and it's been consistent. They seem to have the same defensive intensity in the last 5 minutes of the game as in the first 5, which says a lot.
It is hard to gauge where they are in the overall Summit League landscape, but they had a good outing against State, and they have definitely improved since then. In the COVID year(s), I'm sure most programs are seeing improvement the further they get into the regular season, so it is going to make for an interesting couple of months.
