I’m right here just like I said I would be. That was a sh*t show of a basketball game. Noah was awful and would have missed water if he fell out of a boat. Douglas was continues to struggle from the free throw line. Every time it looked like we might make a run you guys had an answer. Neither team played great but the coyotes definitely looked like a first place team that is playing better basketball right now as much as it hurts me to say it. Maybe Coyote Fan is right and you guys still haven’t played anyone good. If I knew how I would insert Adam Sandler’s happy Gilmore clip you were right I was wrong. Your smart I’m stupid. I appreciate the humility and excellent movie reference. www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRzsv4vHNDsIf you can’t take it don’t give it. Even after that win I don’t have a warm and fuzzy feeling. The coyotes made the jacks look like a bottom tier basketball team for 70 minutes of basketball this weekend. Hopefully for our sake Noah pulls his head out of his a** and starts making some perimeter shots. Charlie Easley was the player of the game for us. When they switch him onto AJ it completely changed the game for both teams. It looked like the coyotes started to freak and take bad shots once he couldn’t initiate the offense they way he wanted to and the jacks started running an offense.

The good news is that now the schedule plays to the Coyotes advantage. The Bison and ORU are now both 2 games back of the lead and I believe both get to host the Jacks. I am so proud of this Coyote team for how far they have come in a relatively short amount of time.

Little off topic but have you guys heard or do you know if Umude will use this free year and come back next year or will he look to move onto whatever is next for him? Hopefully for the jacks and the rest of the summit league he is ready to be done being a student.

I have no idea either. I haven’t heard. The question that popped into my mind, and I don’t know why, is with this “free” year, can he still enter transfer portal? I’m assuming yes but don’t know that for sure either. If he has a degree he could be a grad transfer I guess.
Up until this year, and even including the start of the season, it looked like this team, from a distance, wasn’t having any fun. It was just a grind. No fluidness. Now it looks like a complete 180 since right before Christmas. Coaches are all coaching now, and being fired up. Not sure who if any one person in particular has led this transformation, but if there is someone responsible for it kudos to them.
Completely different looking team than 60 days ago. I’m proud they made the change.

We were simply stopped dead in our tracks by their defensive adjustments and we panicked. Kudos to State for that change. Good lesson for this team. That change accelerated the fact that the Yotes were completely beat tired. I don't know if that is due to emotion of the weekend or if the rotation schedule was off (a bit of both I think).

Does anyone know if the Jacks beat a good team last night, or was that an overrated team based on SOS?

So to be objective (taking out all biases) would you rather have AJ Plituweit or Noah Friedel as a player and who would you rather have on your team?
I know for me I would take AJ and wouldn't look back.

Declaring who you would prefer to sweep and get swept is a dangerous game, but I'll play. I would rather the men get the sweep as it would be a huge psychological victory for the program in a broad sense. Have we even won a game in Frost in the D1 era? As for the women getting swept, I trust them more to shrug it off and be hyper-motivated to win out and prepare for the big potential rematch in March. Realistically speaking, however, I think the most likely outcome will be a split on both sides, and the women are much more likely to sweep as are the men to get swept. As a side note, I will be (safely) around my wife's all jack rabbit family this weekend, and really can't afford an 0-4 weekend. No matter what I will be looking for an opportunity to make a snarky remark about the Friedel nut shot incident! I believe the Coyote Men need the success and jolt more than the Women. The Ladies will definitely bounce back but the Men's program is in much need of this resurgence. The win in Frost was awesome. 2 out of 3 when it it was looking like 0-3 no doubt back in November. I will take it any day of the week. There is much work that needs to be done but the team is now in a position where we can take some confidence in them going forward.

I know for me I would take AJ and wouldn't look back. I would take AJ hands down. Both are great players, but AJ doesn't bring some of the baggage that Noah does. Noah is a great player and the edge he plays with is part of what makes him as good as he is, but some of his on the court behavior reflects poorly on both him & the SDSU program. There was the obvious shot he delivered to Umude at the Pentagon which earned him an ejection and a 2 game suspension by Hendo. However, watching games since then, his behavior hasn't improved. Last night on one foul, he swore at 2 different refs and didn't even receive a warning. On Friday night he flopped and as he was still laying on the floor, he kicked his foot up between Zizic's legs aiming for his groin area. If you have MidcoSportsPlus or recorded the game, you can watch it at about the 9:00 minute mark of the second half.

I went and watched and you are absolutely right on trying to get his foot in the groin. That is really disappointing, TBH. I saw a referee come over to give him a technical (he didn't, obviously) on the foul/swearing you mentioned - it was really over-the-top behavior. But the foot thing coming after the punch thing is maybe more than 'in the heat of the moment...'
Side note: if you do go back to watch it, start a minute earlier so you can see the wild/phantom travel call on AJ too.
