Wow, looks like they are having a really good start to the season, 4-1-2. Their schedule sets up nicely, too. They play the best teams in the conference at the end of the season
10-24 vs SDSU 10-29 @ Denver 10-31 @ Omaha
The final home game against the Jacks might be a good opportunity for the more casual fans to come out. I don't really watch soccer myself, but I think that younger generations of Americans are far more into that sport than me. Plus they have really nice facilities now.

I've coached and refereed soccer for years. This team has a lot of talent and is very well coached!! Soccer players are great athletes and move almost constantly with no timeouts and very few stoppages of play. For those of you who haven't been to a college game you should definitely go!

When it comes to soccer that is a sport I really like. I don't really get into league soccer but when it comes to the international team USA games I really love watching those whether men or especially women. I could probably really enjoy USD soccer.

Great job by the Lady Yotes shutting out Iowa State 1 nil!! The D is playing well! If the O can crank it up a little they'll really be dangerous!!

The Lady Yotes dominated St Thomas 4-0 to open conference play! They were led offensively by Tiannah Moore's first hat trick and recorded their 7th shutout of the season!!
They've now won 5 in a row and are 5-0 at home! Their home stand continues against Western Illinois at 1 PM Sunday.
Go Yotes!!!

The Lady Yotes continue to impress as they beat the bunnies 2-1 scoring their 2nd goal with 110 left!! They're at 10-3-2 and their 10 wins is the most in the D1 era. They have 5 conference wins most since joining the Summit league in 2011. The bunnies had been undefeated in conference play.
Great job Coyotes!!!!

This coming weekend will wrap up the regular season. 6 teams have the potential to qualify for the 4 team post season tournament.
Denver & SDSU are locks. USD & Omaha each need to win or tie one of their 2 remaining matches to qualify. USD plays at Denver on Friday and Omaha hosts SDSU on Friday. USD plays at Omaha on Sunday. The loser of the USD-Omaha match could very well end up in a 3 way ties for 4th place with WIU & KC. I don't know the tie breaker rules for soccer, but guessing that if USD ends up tied with WIU & KC, WIU will qualify as they beat both USD & KC in the regular season. If Omaha ties with WIU & KC, they each split with the other 2 teams, so I have no clue what happens then.
Hopefully Kiyoat will weigh in with a more detailed analysis of the various scenarios.

OK, I found an old article from the end of the 2018 season thesummitleague.org/news/2018/10/30/10_30_2018_11475.aspxAlso, last year they had to switch from "total points" to "points per match" because the teams played an unequal number of matches... So it looks like in soccer they go with: 1. Record (W/L/T) where ties are worth 1/2 a win. 2. Total points scored (or "Points per match" if not all teams played the same # matches) 3. Head-to-Head 4. ?edit: I guess soccer is quite a bit different than other sports for standings. I was thinking points were the same as goals, but that is not the case. I'm learning that a win is worth 3 "points" and a tie is worth 1 "point". So I guess the points are actually the main seeding mechanism.
