We pretty much have to sweep for the 1 seed, since state will likely sweep UMKC. Right?

I agree the Yotes will likely need a sweep to get the 1 seed. However, KC comes into the weekend with a 5 game winning streak; granted the last 4 were against Denver & Omaha. However they did split with ORU in Tulsa and with the Bison in KC.

Kansas City is a legitimate threat to beat anyone. They're going to be a very tough matchup in the tourney for whoever plays them.

Looks like we have 2 game threads, and I'll contribute to the confusion by posting in both...
Not playing the 2nd game against ORU resulted in a much thinner margin of error to win the SL and get the top seed. A sweep removes all question of course. But no one who has watched UMKC play would be surprised if they split in Brookings, which would re-establish some breathing room. I fully realize that the top seed means almost nothing, but I think there is benefit to having something to play for, and getting used to some pressure prior to the SLT can help.
Question for anyone who may be in the know: Will Archambault be back for this weekend. We could really use him, obviously.
Apparently, NDSU had a meltdown against a full-court press last Saturday. I hope the Yotes are working on it in practice this week - would like to see them roll it out a couple times to change up rhythm when NDSU gets on a roll.
And a quick COVID question - Brian H. tweeted that the person who tested positive on Sunday tested negative a day or two later. I can't imagine NDSU would be comfortable playing with a 50/50 chance of a mass-quarantine going into the SLT. Any idea what the protocols are?

I bet the teams test midweek as well, so you should know if anyone else tests positive heading into the weekend. That’s about the best you can do.

Crap. AJ injured with 2 min left Ya, that sucks. It sure sounds bad. Tough to see us making much noise in the tournament without AJ.

Crap. AJ injured with 2 min left I was thinking a much stronger epithet than that 1000x over.

I was surprised at how much NDSU struggles against a zone, especially in the first half. And what's with all the fouling at the end? I get it if it's a one, two or maybe three possession game, but down double digits with less than minute including one with 15 seconds left?

Crap. AJ injured with 2 min left I was thinking a much stronger epithet than that 1000x over. Yeah, I was trying to keep it civil. Seriously sucks. I was going to post before the men’s game about going for a “Big Three (sports) hat trick”. I didn’t do that, because I didn’t want to jinx it. Now that the Yotes actually accomplished it, it’s hard to celebrate with what happened to AJ. *insert quote about having nice things*
