speaking of omaha i believe they are the only team that has now defeated both the jacks and the coyotes at the summit tourney. they now have a chance to do so in the same year. bison are now only down 46-33. Them and IUPUI.

Really nice effort today! I was somewhat apprehensive going into the game, but was still expecting a win somewhere in the eight to twelve point range. Was not expecting the total ass kicking that was administered. When this team plays defense like they did the sky's the limit. Omaha will be an interesting matchup seeing that the two have yet to play this season and it's a rare (I would imagine) 8 vs 1 championship game. Wonder if that's ever happened before? The Mavs have looked tough in their two games so far but I'm banking on our tournament experience success, leadership and defense to prevail.

Rare game where SDSU and their fans gotta be rooting hard for the Yotes, no?

Because if Omaha wins somebody's bid disappears.

I mean, I guess if Omaha were to win State might still get in ...

if omaha does win i dont think the yotes would make the ncaa's. it isnt supposed to be this way but i dont think 3 summit teams would get in.

Three teams aren't getting in, that's not even a question. Which South Dakota school gets left out if that happened is tough to say. But I think the committee would have to look at current roster construction. I don't think it's something that anybody's really going to have to worry about as the Yotes seem to me to be dialed in and hitting their stride, but if the unlikely were to happen I'd think State would be in more danger than the U. Their resume is better but the main component in constructing that resume is out.

I was unable to watch most of the 1st half did something happen to Mazurek? I see she only played 2 minutes. Peplowski played pretty well in her minutes. Great job by the coaching staff to get the players ready. Looking forward to tomorrow's game!!! Go Yotes!!!

They say it's more of a seeding than selection issue but at some point that has to also become a selection issue.

Omaha is playing with a great deal of confidence. They were simply a bad match up for SDSU, and both of their games (with Selland) came down to free throws in the final minute or two. That said, if you watched the two semifinal games today, you probably noticed there was a significant talent/athleticism difference between the two teams in the first game and the two teams in the second game. Anything can happen in a one game playoff, but it would take an amazing series of things going wrong for USD to fall in this game.

Totally agree with all of that. I think it's incredibly unlikely that the Yotes don't win tomorrow. But I still think SDSU has to be cheering for USD to win that game.

Their resume is better but the main component in constructing that resume is out. If Omaha wins then I can't imagine USD would get a bid. State would get in over us. They had a better resume before beating us twice. I know they aren't the same team right now, but I just don't think the committee would do that. Maybe we would both miss out, but I don't see a scenario where USD would get an at large over SDSU. Hopefully we win tomorrow and it's a moot point.

Maybe. I really have no idea. And I think it will be a moot point. But if Omaha wins I'd be sweating if I were either one.
