this game is very simple. NDSU being NDSU and USD being USD in the summit tourney. The bison and jacks own this tourney. the coyotes arent ready for the trophy just yet.

I'm utterly pissed off about how this game finished, but congrats to Todd Lee and company for an impressive season. I expected nothing and we got much more than that. Build on it and win it all next year.

So let’s just ask it. Is Stan coming back? There’s no guarantee we see AJ next year, if ever.

Huh. Turns out we could have won with out AJ, but not without AJ AND Zizic. Who would have guessed that two months ago?
Give NDSU credit - they knew how thin the front court was, and attacked it for 40 minutes. The game was called pretty tight for a tourney game, and the Yotes didn't have enough fouls to give.

The referees turned a very enjoyable basketball game into a yawner for the last ten minutes. Totally sucked the air out of the building. I don’t think it favored either team just made it a miserable watch. When in doubt let them play...imho

A big thing that sticks out to me is turnovers. We had so many opportunities to finish them and we were exploited in return.

I doubt Stan will come back to play without him. Hope I'm wrong about that. That's just my guess about Stan. Before that injury I think we had everyone back for next year. After the injury I think we lost Stan and AJ for next year.

the bison wanted this game much more than the coyotes did down the stretch. their energy level was better and their execution was better and they deserved the game. the coyotes had a good year but in a mid major league it is all about the conference tourney.
this was a big chance this year. no pro sdsu crowd but like usual when the jacks lose the yotes neve take advantage of it because the bison are always budding in stealing that trophy for themselves. i will take the bison tomorrow night.

These games can be tough to watch. It seems like there is a foul call every time down the court. I thought they let them play more come tournament time. Everything is a foul tonight. I said the same thing in the women's thread. Seemed like if we even gave one of their players a dirty look a foul is called. Then Umude gets clubbed across the head and Bison ball. Had our chances though. One thing I didn't understand was the small lineup. Seems like we got torched when using that.

Congrats on a fantastic season Coyote fans. Losing AJ when you did and still fought to the end. Coach Lee is a great coach and the system is in place. Tough pieces to fill with AJ out next year and Stan status up in the air. The culture is being built though. Take care, Reach Summit pod

Tough pieces to fill with AJ out next year and Stan status up in the air. The culture is being built though. Take care, Reach Summit pod Lee took a big step forward this year and gives all of us more confidence going forward but I am not ready to call him a great coach just yet. At least he is now a good coach. LOL. He needs to prove it a little longer but he is no longer on the hot seat. Should a NCAA tourney appearance be a pre-requisite before considering him great? I would tend to lean "yes" on that question. I would say the "overdue" label is fair as far as the Coyotes getting to the NCAA tourney.

Couldn't bring myself to post last night. Too pissed off. The coyotes played 30 minutes of a great basketball game, then it all came unraveled.
I told the wife it was over after we threw the ball out of bounds on the first 2 possessions of the second half. Managed to maintain the lead after that for a while, but the lack of depth finally caught up to us. Defense got tired and it turned into a foul-fest. Could have really used AJ and Zizic. Zizic especially. Just too much of a dropoff when Tasos goes out or gets into foul trouble. I like Brady Heiman but he's not a scoring threat and gets bullied inside.
Honestly, that one hurts. It was a great opportunity for the yotes to finally hoist that trophy and it was squandered yet again. My expectations for this season were pretty low to begin with, but it felt like they had turned a corner. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with how the season went but still very disappointed in last night.

I'm mad too, but a lot of people were writing us off after Plitzuweit got hurt and were even expecting Western to take us down. Coach Lee was able to rally the players for the first game and came up with a solid game plan last night, but foul trouble killed us and lack of depth depth killed us. Zero, as in nada, nothing, points or even shots attempted from the bench. Why bother to even guard those guys? Zizic still has to develop more, but was coming coming around to the point that if he'd been available the NDSU bigs wouldn't have had the field day the did. Can't expect Hayes and Archambault to guard 6'10, but they were trying to last night. Bottom line: we have a full roster I think we win the tourney although I do think ORU has the most pure talent.

ORU ahead of the bison by 25 at half. Have the cardiac bsion finally met their match. if i am ORU i dont not take the air out of the ball for awhile yet. they need to get the lead up to 30 which is pretty much too big of a lead. i expect the bison to make a big run.
