When you are taller, more athletic and also are more intense that is a very good thing if you are an Oregon fan. I have always thought if there was a weakness with the Coyotes it's that they are not very athletic. If you are going to be shorter than an opponent you better be more athletic and that is not the case. The Coyotes need to get more athletic if they are to complete with these types of teams.
They had a similar problem with Clemson a couple of years ago.

Certainly don't look like a team that lost its point guard and went 1-5 in its last six games coming into the tourney.

Nothing there in the paint. Cannot hit a three

Definitely tournament style reffing. Can’t buy a foul.

Sjerven hits a free throw with 4 seconds left in the half for our only point of the 2nd quarter. 0/21 from the field in the 2nd. Shooting a total of 9% from the field. I don't think I've ever witnessed such a poor shooting performance before.

I'll add that Sjerven kicked things off by going 2/2 from the field. Team is 1/30 since.

Welp. Plenty of fuel to burn this offseason. They're playing hard but they just don't have the firepower for this kind of game. Hopefully they can figure out some kind of attack and ball movement combination in the second half that they can take into the offseason with them as some kind of positive from running into this caliber of athlete.

I’d be nervous if I were Georgia watching this game. Oregon is playing like a sweet 16 team, maybe elite 8.

We are completely overmatched. We're giving a good defensive effort but the O is nonexistent. Just forget trying to drive the ball, just rain threes and hope for the best. It's been a great season but I'm afraid it's over.

Agree with all of this. We are playing really hard. We obviously aren't use to playing against this size and athleticism.

Oregon obviously knows who the one kid you can't let get an open look from the arc is. And they seem to have decided that if Sjerven can beat them with 15 footers by all means go for it. The ball movement and decision making has to be perfect against a zone with that kind of length and it just hasn't been anywhere close. Too bad. This team is far better than it showed in the first half and I don't think there's really any actual game left.

Captain Obvious here but without a doubt the worst half of basketball these gals have ever had. I feel bad for them. That said, they haven’t quit and they play hard every time.
Sometimes you get beat by better teams. But we aren’t being out hustled and I can live with that. Hope they end this with a better taste in their mouths.

Coach Graves should get a lot of credit too. The big line up, full court zone press, half court zone - all things that play to their strengths, and I don't think USD was prepared for it. That, and the 5 start McDonalds All Americans. Those help too.

Starting to get some calls going our way. Using Oregon’s aggression against them. Hitting a few shots.
