I think they just said "eff it" at halftime and are having fun out there. The looser we're playing the tighter Oregon seems to be getting. My expectations aren't out of control but now this game is fun to watch.

In a game like this a team needs to be able to nail those three pointers. The Yotes haven't been as lethal as they have been in the past, the WNIT run had a much better outside shooting team. I think from here on out the goal should be just to simply win one of these NCAA games instead of worrying about the seeding. The Yotes still haven't been close to winning one yet. If we want to be a legit top 25 ranked team we need a tourney win at least one time.

Welp. Plenty of fuel to burn this offseason. They're playing hard but they just don't have the firepower for this kind of game. Hopefully they can figure out some kind of attack and ball movement combination in the second half that they can take into the offseason with them as some kind of positive from running into this caliber of athlete. Agree with all of this. We are playing really hard. We obviously aren't use to playing against this size and athleticism. The Coyotes have scheduled tough in the non con so they have seen South Carolina and Gonzaga. I think what they aren't used to is playing a super motivated team like that in this tourney environment. The Coyotes can handle these kind of teams much of the time but Oregon has played a hell of a game tonight. The Ducks are a much better team though and it was very apparent tonight.

This is all a process. The Yotes had a lot of trouble for a long time trying to win the Summit tourney. Now their big block in the road is that NCAA tourney win. They will eventually figure that out as well but just not quite this year. Last year was the best chance by far but obviously that was beyond their control. Next year could be a similar situation to last year.

They just got jumped early. Took too long to get settled in.
They needed to see State with Selland in the Summit League championship as much as State needed Selland in the NCAA Tourney.

Oregon won the first half and we won the 2nd half. I think one could basically argue that we tied. Although when I tried to convince my son of that he wasn't having it.

In the post game the Oregon senior talked about how they watched film on themselves in their last few losses and realized they weren’t giving enough effort. Looks like that won’t be a problem against Georgia.

While I certainly have to tip my hat to the ladies for the overall effort, I'm kind of baffled by the first half performance. I didn't think a press would ever rattle us that much. Completely took us out of our game. Waterboy hit the nail on the head: we needed to see better competition at the end of the season. Blowing out the competition in the Summit Tourney really didn't do us much good and it would have been way better to see SDSU, preferably with Selland, and let the chips fall where they may. Really need to give a standing "O" to Sjerven for the effort tonight. She battled some absolute redwoods to get herself a double/double. Also, just congrats to all the members of the team. You've all been a joy to watch and I really admire the exceptional chemistry and camaraderie that this team embodies.

Hannah Sjerven is one of the luckiest things that ever happened to USD.

Super proud of this team and we all knew they would never give up and they didn't!! Give credit to Oregon in the first half with their trapping, pressing D which was made more effective because of their length. It got the Yotes O totally out of synch the first half. The Coyotes played much better after half and as the announcers finally figured out the Coyote D only allowed the Duck 9 points even in the 2nd Q.
Thank-you ladies so much for all the great basketball and we can't wait to cheer you on again in the fall!!!

Very proud of these athletes. It would have been easy to toss it in after the first half. They didn't and showed their pride and in so doing represented us all well.
