completely missed set 3, as i was setting up the boy's basketball AA championship (streaming from phone) for my wife to watch. Looks like we took the 3rd set 25-20.

KC let for most of set 4, and won it 20-25. On to another consecutive 5-set match.

7-15 Roos take the 5th set and the match.
The regular season title will go to either KC or Denver, but Denver would have to sweep the series to take the title. KC now has the inside track for a title in their first season back. All four of KC, USD, Denver and Omaha will be the tournament field. USD will likely be the #2 or #3 seed, so first round opponent will likely be Denver.
Bummer for their last SCSC match.
On the bright side, in a 4-team tournament any team has a reasonable shot to take that auto-bid to the Big Dance. Also, unless I misunderstood the rules, the regular season title this Spring will not come with hosting privileges in the Fall. Our earned hosting was postponed until Fall 2021, as this year is at a neutral location in Sioux Falls. So we still have an opportunity to extend that hosting streak.

Not a good day to be a Coyote. Hopefully Monday is better in that regard.

For our resident volleyball experts, what happened this weekend? I'd understand dropping two games.on the road, but this was previously unthinkable in the SCSC.

For our resident volleyball experts, what happened this weekend? I'd understand dropping two games.on the road, but this was previously unthinkable in the SCSC. Sometimes you get beat by a better team. This weekend UMKC was the better team. A good lesson for LLC’s sports teams is the Roos played like they wanted it more. Probably more than any other sport volleyball has huge momentum swings. I said this earlier and I’ll stand by it. When we pass the ball well we are the best team in the league. When we do t, poor passing neutralizes our outside attacks. We went into long periods of “funk” where we couldn’t pass the ball to save our lives. I give credit to their coach for knowing where to attack at all points on the floor. To be honest, and Coach W said it in press conference, they frustrated our girls. There are (4) teams heading into the tournament and we will be a 2 or 3 seed. Doesn’t matter as we’d play the same team anyway. I like our chances but it’s no slam dunk. We can’t go through as long of dark periods as we did this weekend or we won’t advance. Not to take anything away from any players we have, but numerous times I said last year and this year that the one player we were gonna miss was Anne Rasmussen. She was an unbelievable talent. She was as good as any libero in the country at any level. All that said, I’ll predict we win the tourney. We are a good team extremely well coached.

I have one observation... Although she played in both matches on Friday night Madison Harms was riding a stationary bike when she rotated out and seemed out of sorts on the blocking end of things all weekend. I would have to say she was battling something. I know there will be someone who points out she got 14 kills on Saturday, but getting kills and blocking are two way different skill sets. Madison had 4 block assists in 10 sets when she had been averaging had been averaging almost 13 on the year for the same number of sets.
I would agree with Yoteforever's comment on our serve receive during the weekend and it's impact on the matches. While KC only had 7 services aces during both matches, the serving appeared to keep the Yotes out of system and limit the options of which hitter was going to get the ball.
