Just doing some math, so I thought I'd start the thread.
This year will be different in several ways. Neutral location instead of in Vermillion (we won the right to host last season with a regular season title). That Vermillion tournament will be held after the Fall 2021 season, so whoever wins this Spring 2021 regular season won't win the right to host (thanks Covid). Also, there are only four teams in this Spring tournament, as opposed to the normal six. Feel free to correct me if I have any of these details wrong.
Sanford Pentagon, April 2 & 3, 2021.
I'm guessing the fan situation will be similar to the basketball SLT? Not sure. I'd love to go. Current teams that have clinched are calculated below......

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe the following can be statically validated...
USD - In (worse they can do is 5 losses) KC - In (worse they can do is 5 losses) Omaha - In - worse then can do is 6 losses and won the head to head with NDSU Denver - need to win one of the final 4 matches (NDSU-2 & KC-2) If they lose all 4 matches & NDSU wins all 4 matches - Denver is out due to head to head with NDSU NDSU - need to will all 4 remaining matches and need Denver to lose all 4 matches - NDSU would be IN based on head to head with Denver.
Correct?

So it looks like three teams are in regular season title contention, but USD has the easiest path, followed by Denver, then KC.
Three teams have punched their tickets to the SLT. Denver can do that with a single win against NDSU today.
Seeding is still fairly malleable, but in a four-team single-elimination tournament, who cares? Each team will still have to beat two of the three toughest teams in the conference.
I've been impressed with the relative quality of the whole conference this year outside of Western. The top four teams are as strong as ever, but the middle-tier teams have forced many five-set matches. At 2-10, both UND and ORU are still decent teams. And the improvement of SDSU under their new coach is notable. The league should be a two-bid threat in the future.

I'd also be interested in getting tickets. Has there been any kind of announcement from the Summit League? I feel like at this point we should be able to have limited capacity. Every other event is allowing some fans.

Current standings and matches left: # | TEAM | W/L | LEFT | FINISH | SLT | 1 | KC | 11-1 | USD, DEN | #1-4 | IN | 2 | USD | 10-1 | KC, WIU | #1-4 | IN | 3 | DENVER | 9-2 | NDSU, KC | #1-5 | - | 4 | OMAHA | 10-4 | BYE, ORU | #2-4 | IN | 5 | NDSU | 6-6 | DEN, UND | #4-7 | - | 6 | SDSU | 5-9 | ORU, BYE | #5-9 | OUT | 7 | UND | 2-10 | WIU, NDSU | #5-9 | OUT | 8 | ORU | 2-10 | SDSU, OMA | #6-9 | OUT | 9 | WIU | 0-12 | UND, USD | #7-9 | OUT |
Current standings and matches left: # | team | W/L | LEFT | FINISH | SLT | 1 | KC | 13-1 | Denver | 1-3 | IN | 2 | Denver | 11-2 | KC | 1-4 | IN | 3 | USD | 10-3 | WIU | 2-4 | IN | 4 | Omaha | 10-4 | ORU | 2-4 | IN | 5 | NDSU | 6-8 | UND | 5 | OUT | 6 | SDSU | 6-10 | BYE | 6 | OUT | 7 | ORU | 3-11 | Omaha | 7-9 | OUT | 8 | WIU | 2-12 | USD | 7-9 | OUT | 9 | UND | 2-12 | NDSU | 7-9 | OUT |
So the SLT teams are set, but the seeding is still pretty fluid. Only KC or Denver can win the regular season title now. I feel pretty confident in winning 2 matches at WIU, so we probably wouldn't fall to #4. Likely 2 or 3 and a rematch with KC or Denver. NDSU and SDSU would have made the tournament in a normal 6-team year. That would have been the Jacks' first VB SLT appearance since 2010. Also 6 is their most conference wins since 2012. Looks like they made a decent coaching hire.

RPI Team
55 USD 60 KC 63 Omaha 119 Denver
In a normal year, with RPIs like these, we would have three teams that were just outside of at-large consideration. We would easily get a team or two in the NIVC, too. This year there are only 48 teams instead of 64 in the big dance, and I have no idea if the NIVC is happening or not.

Well, looks like Denver decided not to surrender the title to a newcomer. Pios swept the Roos in both matches to take the season title and 1-seed!
That sets up a revenge rematch between the Yotes and Roos in the 2v3 match.
A couple of good storylines this year. Mavs could play spoiler again.

Well that should ensure that the Coyotes will be plenty fired up and won't take one second of that match for granted like they may have in Vermillion. Not that they did, just that they may have.
