That’s huge. It is an awful floor to just lay sport court on concrete. The older the gals get the more at risk they are. If that hadn’t been exposed it would never have been remedied.
HUGE DAY. This is really big match. Would be awesome to get a NCAA tourney win

Dropped the first set 25-19.
Had a bad case of nerves to start the set it seemed like. Went down like 8-2 right away.
Passing will need to get better

Lost in straight sets. Bummer. DeBerg on Missouri is an impressive player. Powerful hitting and serve.
Looking forward to this entire team coming back in the fall!
Great season, ladies!

Looking back at the Summit/MidContinent history in this tournament, no current member has won a single set in 23 years (PFW won 2 sets in 2012, Valpo won one set in 2004.
Only two teams have won a first round match in the league’s entire history (NIU in 1993 and ORU in 1997).
Unfinished business.

Tough sledding today. The worst part for me is that USD is a much better team than what they showed today. Had they played today the way they played last weekend, this would have been a different match.

I agree they are but also Missouri had a lot to do with that. We trailed by 10 in set 1 but battled back. In set 2, we went up 16-14 and had momentum but had the green card challenge that flipped the point. The flip was correct, BUT the length of time it took took the wind out of our sail. The 3rd set was all Mizzou.
The reality of it is we were with them the first 2 sets. If you watched, you could see the biggest difference was how well the Tigers dug and passed the ball. Our Achilles heel this season has been passing the ball. Today was no exception. The good news is we were in the match.
Thank you ladies for providing great competitive volleyball. Looking forward to the fall of 2021

Good experience and a great accomplishment to make the tourney. Build on it and come back stronger in the fall. It seems to me that this program could keep rising into something really special the way things have gone in the past several years. It's wild for me to see where the program is now and to think about the games I went to on the Dome floor and up in the Den (disclosure: I went to those games as a gameday employee, shagging balls for $8 an hour. It was easier up top than on the floor).
I know this team will have a great season in the fall and run away with another trophy with the conference tourney in Vermillion.

I’m guessing, based on past schedules and this season’s success, that Coach Williamson will put together an RPI-building non-conference schedule that will give SCSC fans something to get excited about.
Omaha and ORU do a good job of that, too... which builds up the whole conference RPI. KC and Denver have the clout to schedule tough, too. We will see if they do that. I have my doubts.

Of the 8 ranked teams that played on Wednesday all of those teams won and the sets were 24-2 in favor of the ranked teams. Not exactly parity. No ranked team lost more than 1 set. BTW those ranked teams were all at the lower end of the top 25. Love the Coyotes but the Missouri match was not much of a competitive match. I really felt that for both Women's Basketball and Volleyball that both teams were just kind of happy to get there this year and neither really had the drive to win as much as the opponent. A talent gap also had to do with it but the will to win wasn't as high as both teams in their respective conference tourneys. That is fine as the time is coming close to not only just be happy to be there but to do something a bit more once they get there.

I respectfully disagree with your statement that both the women’s basketball and volleyball teams were just happy to get there and really didn’t have the drive of the opponent or the will to win. Honestly, that’s 100% crap and if you truly believe what you typed it’s a strong indicator to me you never have competed in your life. The basketball team in the first quarter and a half ran into a press and defense that they’ve never seen before, and literally there was no way to practice for it. Oregon’s length unsettled them big time. Once they settled down they literally outplayed Oregon but they dug themselves into a deep hole they couldn’t get out of. You tell me that Lamb, Tjerven, and Korngable didn’t give everything they had? They never quit. Not once. Coach P would never let that happen. Yesterday’s volleyball match was simply Missouri was a better team. We probably didn’t play our best but a lot of that was due to Missouri. Balls never hit the floor. They simply were better than us. That happens. Plus we never got to play teams of that caliber this year because of Covid with possible exception of Creighton, and I don’t believe Creighton would touch Missouri either. Good teams is all Missouri plays. I’ll bet my bottom dollar you will see Leanne schedule SEC, BIG 10, BIG 12 schools next year in the fall. No offense to anyone else in the league, but SDSU, Ndsu, western illinois and such right now stink. Playing them is no more than a scrimmage. I hope that changes so we’re in highly competitive conference matches all the time. But for you to say they didn’t have the will or desire to win is preposterous. If you’re going to,post something like that at least have a clue. That’s so wrong in many ways.
