Looks like the Summit League released the new conference schedules for Fall sports last week, including soccer and volleyball. It looks like some effort was made to have travel partners and a strictly Thursday-Saturday format, but there is some wonkiness in the early part of the schedule, with some Tuesdays thrown in. I'll assume that the reasons for that stem mainly from facility conflicts. Baxter Arena in Omaha has had concert and convention conflicts in the past, and UND has had Hockey conflicts. Not bad, though. Looks like UND-NDSU, USD-SDSU, Denver-Omaha, KC-ORU and UST-WIU are the travel partners.

Another schedule scoop (curtesy of those VB fanatics on VolleyTalk.com): UW-Milwaukee just released their full schedule, which includes the Horizon League schedule that has not been formally released by the conference. They are also playing in a USD tournament in Vermillion on September 10 (Fri) and September 11 (Sat) along with: Central Arkansas Bradley mkepanthers.com/sports/womens-volleyball/schedule

Good find.
Should be a fun couple of days in Verm as the Dome Opener vs Northern Arizona is on Sept 11.

It doesn't effect USD, but I see that the Big 12 is going to continue to play doubleheaders this year. I am really glad the Summit League is going back to the traditional home and home schedule for all conference matches.

The nonconference schedule appears to be as follows:
Aug 27-28 - at Ft Collins & Greeley - Colorado State, Northern Colorado & Northwestern Sept 3-4 - unknown - perhaps a trip to Madison to play the Badgers and Dayton (wishful thinking) Sept 10-11 - at the SCSC - Milwaukee, Bradley & Central Arkansas (good weekend to head to Verm as the football team hosts Northern Arizona in the Dome Opener on Sept 11) Sept 17-18 - at Wichita - Wichita State, Creighton & Wyoming
Conference play starts on Sept 24 at the SCSC vs SDSU

Guessing they are trying to fill that open spot, since they haven’t announced yet.

Looks like we filled that open spot……Louisville!
Worth the wait. Louisville has become a national powerhouse program.
Looks like we will also play Northern Kentucky and get a rematch with Mizzou.

Phekran Kong from Sioux Falls is on the Louisville roster. Sydni Schetnan, a incoming freshman from Sioux Falls, who signed with Louisville to play both basketball and volleyball is listed on the basketball roster but not on the volleyball roster.

This is an amazing non-conference schedule, IMHO.
Three tournament teams (in a reduced field year), and major players:
Louisville - ACC champs, #12 RPI Creighton - MVC champs, #8 RPI Missouri - #3 finish SEC, #24 RPI, at-large selection
Many upper-tier mid-major programs from the midwest and front-range regions (essentially peer programs):
Northern Colorado - #2 finish Big Sky, #27 RPI (this may be an anomaly in an abbreviated season) Colorado State ----- #3 finish MWC, ---#98 RPI Wyoming ------------ #4 finish MWC, --#106 RPI
Bradley --------------- #4 finish MVC, ----#96 RPI Northern Kentucky - #3 finish Horizon, #81 RPI Milwaukee ----------- #5 finish Horizon, #47 RPI
Three teams that we should easily be favored in, but are still competitive opponents. Likely better than most of the Summit:
Central Arkansas - #5 finish in Southland, #124 RPI Wichita State ------ #7 finish in AAC, ------#141 RPI Northwestern ------ #8 finish in Big Ten, --#220 RPI

The volleyball schedule is now official. The only changes from what has been previously discussed in this thread was the addition of an exhibition match at Drake on August 21 and match against Bradley in the South Dakota Classic will be on Thursday, Sept 9 (6 PM) instead of Saturday, Sept 11.

Good catch! "We are very excited about this schedule," Williamson said. "This is the most challenging schedule that South Dakota volleyball will have ever played, but I know that this team is prepared for the challenge!" Also: "Season tickets for Coyote Volleyball start at $95 includes a ticket for the match at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls. Single game tickets will go on sale Monday, August 16th...."

The most likely scenario is between 3-9 and 9-3, but who really knows? Hard to get a read on the upper-tier mid-majors. My guess: W Northwestern 3-2 L CSU 2-3 L UNC 1-3 W UNK 3-1 L Louisville 0-3 L Missouri 2-3 W Bradley 3-1 W Cent. Ark 3-0 W Milwaukee 3-2 W Wichita St 3-0 L Creighton 2-3 W Wyoming 3-1 So 7-5 overall. Some early setbacks, but in the last two tournaments we will be firing on all cylinders, ready to destroy Summit teams.
