It was great to see the Yotes Volleyball and WBB teams represent the University at the Tea Pot Days parade in Tea Saturday. As they passed my spot in the parade I hollered ... U S D ... all players responded in unison Coyotes... Woot Woot!!! It brought alot of smiles from the teams and coaches participating!! Great Job !!!

I was happy to see them as well. I recognized Sami Slaughter, but could not pick out any other volleyball players. Probably about 10 or 12 WBB players. We hollered "Go Yotes" and said Hi to Coach P. She threw one of those little foam USD basketballs to my 1 1/2 year old. He was pretty excited.

We've been hitting the town celebrations hard this summer. So far we've been at Hot Dog Days in Tyndall, Yankton Ribfest, Harrisburg Days parade, Teapot Days parade and the Czech Days parade in Tabor. Many more events are on the docket for the rest of the summer. It's been fun to see Coyote Nation in person again!

Need to get to west river events too ie Days of 76 in Deadwood, etc. Then a good chance to get players to Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, etc

Need to get to west river events too ie Days of 76 in Deadwood, etc. Then a good chance to get players to Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, etc I like the idea, but a 6 hour road trip with an overnight is a lot more logistically challenging than spending a morning in Tea. But I do wish we had more of a presence West River. I think there is an opportunity to grow the fan base out that way.

The primary focus of hitting up all the regional celebrations is to put more butts in the seats at the Dome & SCSC and that is why most of the effort is within a 60 miles radius of Vermillion. Attending the Days of 76 will do little to attract more attendance from Deadwood. I think a better way to build a West River presence is to play an occasional basketball game or volleyball match in Rapid City. Hopefully the new Monument Arena (BTW, that is seriously a great name for a facility in Rapid) will schedule some MTE's for basketball and volleyball.

I agree bb and vb west river as often as possible would be great! The men's game vs WY in the civic center a few yrs ago was very well attended and the women played either tech or bh too.
Don't discount the Days of 76. Thousands attend the 2 parades from all over the hills and region. The bunnies have been to a couple the last few yrs.
