I am asking Coyote Nation to say a prayer for Macklin Karius. Macklin is the son of Rick and Kayla Karius. Kayla came to USD when Coach P took the job in Vermillion Kayla’s maiden name was Tetschlag. Rick was director of ops for Craig Smith. Kayla left USD and took the job of assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin.
Macklin was born a few weeks ago and has bern in the hospital since. Tomorrow morning Macklin is having surgery to remove his liver and bowel in a silo outside his body in an attempt to give his lungs a chance to grow and develop. It is extremely high risk surgery and the survival rate is 20%. This little guy needs prayers from all. God can do wonders and that’s exactly what we should pray for.
Thanks everyone. I’ll keep you posted and updated.

Macklin is now out of surgery. His numbers are borderline. The next few hours will determine the success. PLEASE say a prayer for these people.
Thx

Macklins parents have been to hell and back. He had surgery this morning and initial feeling was it went as well as possible but so many things could go wrong. Then one doctor summoned the parents and suggested they be with him bedside as he was in trouble. While heading to the room another doctor told them to wait in a waiting room. They prayed and prayed and 10 minutes later they were told the young baby had made a miraculous turn with his numbers improving. Back to baseline.
The young baby boy is fighting for his life. Please keep the prayers coming. The parents felt the love and prayers of do many. Unbelievably hard thing they are going through with emotional swings

Macklin entered the gates of heaven yesterday morning in the arms of his parents. Please keep Rick and Kayla in your prayers as well as the immediate family. I can’t imagine how tough this would be.
