Brandon Valley's Heidi Hoff verballed to the USD today. For those of you who don't know her, she lit the Class AA tournament on fire this past year to get BV a championship. I think this is a great get.

No idea, but I do know that Williams did sign an Aussie player too. I know Case was the only senior, so there might only be one. I don't know how else left.

According to the article USD has 14 players on scholarship and an option to add a 15th.

I am curious as to whether there are some transfers that will take place at the end of the school year or if some of the women are not on scholarship. There are 12 players on the current USD roster that would carry over to next year. Combine that with the 5 incoming and we are at 17 players. Now, if a few of them aren't on scholarship, then that would explain how there would still be one available.

Maybe USD is one of those schools that fudges the numbers for Title IX that was reported last month haha. Kidding of course.

I think you can have more than 15 on the roster, but those would be non scholarship athletes. They cannot split scholarships for basketball, so you can't give one girl a half ride and another girl the other half. Two years ago they had a track athlete also play basketball to help fill a roster spot because of injuries to other players, perhaps there is a player from last year that is not playing next year but will remain a USD student. Or perhaps there is someone who will graduate in December and won't play this year. I'm guessing they like to have at least 15 healthy players to practice 5 on 5 on 5.

If I remember reading on the Coyotes website, Teresa Case and Jackie Hiebert both graduated. Both aren't on the roster for 2011-12.
When you can return a lineup of Roche, Yackley, Hegge, Boss and Wilson, plus the bench (Robertson, Edwards, Mehr, etc.) and the new girls, I'd say things are looking great for next season.

Jeremy from the P&D confirmed this on Twitter tonight.
WOW. 3 South Dakota recruits, and some really good ones.

looks like whoever chimed in on here before and had confirmation of Tia Hemiller verballing was right on the money.
She'll be a great PG for the Yotes, if youve ever seen her play, she can definitely score and looks to be able to rebound fairly well. Anxious to see her get into the program and make some noise.
she'll have some big girls to pass to, that's for sure. This juco transfer from Iowa Western and Heidi Hoff and Margaret McCloud.
