I think the reason Indiana State's tickets are so low priced is because this is the first good football season they have had since Larry Bird was going to school there.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Chuck. I wasn't trying to imply that our adult tickets are too high priced. I was told our tickets are on the higher side compared to some peer schools, but $90 isn't that bad. I just wish there was a youth season ticket. USD started this new Yippen Yote CLub last year. Why not market the two together by getting kids to join the Yippen Yote club and getting them a season ticket to football and basketball.
Thanks for the info on the fellow MVFC schools.

I think for the most part our prices are very fair. Many of the MVC teams that are priced where we are or slightly lower, only have 5 home games, so when you look at it on a per ticket price, we have good value.
I do understand the argument for youth tickets, but I think the problem again is where do you seat them? Most parents want their kids beside them so it wouldn't be fair to take seats ina priority area just so kids can get in cheaper.
I say let's pay the price to raise some money so we can compete next year in the MVC.

Let's just say that I paid more as a student at Iowa State for season tickets than I would for USD season tickets as a non-student (sorry, can't sign up for season tickets because i have no idea what i am doing those saturdays.....since I have to cover games still and such....I miss Verm sometimes).

I agree, and the price went from $85 to $90 and added a game. So it's a good deal. I don't think it's a problem to sit kids in the priority area. Yes, parents want, and probably should so they can supervise, their kids to sit by them. I have issues when a fan says children can't sit in the priority sections. I have 5 season tickets - all adult price, but one is for a two year old and one for a 9 month old. Why? Because I want my kids growing up going to Yote games, and since I'm in the Red Club and my parents Silver Club, I would prefer the priority seats. As for seating, there is plenty of enough room right now. My statement earlier about demand. In recent years there have been as many as 1052 open seats (non season tickets) in sections D E and F alone. Sure I would like those sold with all yelling and screaming adults, but those currently are only partially sold on Gameday. Many of them remain open. I know because I've sat in section E row 22 for three years and there have been 100s of seats open around us. We need those to become season ticket holders. Here's another issue. We both want to raise money to help the program. There have been as many as 426 season ticket holders in sections C and G that are not members of the HP. I want those people to become HP members. Why are there so many in sections C and G? The top three reasons: first - many are family four pack people; second - they either chose to or can't afford the HP, but want season tickets; or three - they prefer to sit down low and no seats are available in D E and F in rows 1-13. There are plenty of seats available now. Sure on an individual game basis the Dome will be sold out for games like NDSU and SDSU and Northern Iowa, but that doesn't mean those people are getting season tickets. We don't really disagree yoteforever, I just want to find a way to get more of those 426 season ticket holders to join the HP, and to get more season ticket holder generally. I think the reason some are not is because of children. With regard to your last sentence, I agree, but it's been shown to be easier in the past few years to find 10 people to donate $100 or $300 to the HP then it is to find that one who donates $1200 or $3000. The Silver Club and higher people are still going to have the best seats - what is wrong with filling rows 17-22 of D E and F with Coaches and White Club HP members - even if they have children? Also, keep in mind today's Coaches Club member will hopefully in 10-15 years become a Silver Club member. How we treat alumni age 40 and lower today will affect how they donate at age 60 when the kids are out of the house and they have more liquidity. At least it seems to me that would have an impact. I'm trying to look at long term HP growth, not the next few years. I certainly can be wrong in my positions, and I reserve the right to change my mind if shown that another way is better. We also need our prior athletes to get involved. It is dreadful how few former athletes donate to the HP. Those are the people we are raising money for now. They should be paying it forward. That's a whole other issue. I'm not trying to beat a dead horse. Let's just hope 100 people call 605-677-5959, ask for Brad, and order season tickets today, which is the last day before they start selecting actual seats in the priority areas. GO YOTES.
