Although there are technically two weekends left with four matches, these next two matches are for all the marbles. Omaha has a one-match lead on both Denver and SD. Denver would win any tie with SD. So the Yotes need to win both to have their fate in their hands for a regular season championship, (and 2022 hosting rights) on the line.
Thursday @6pm vs Denver
Sunday @3pm vs Omaha

Explain the your tie comment with Denver, if USD beats Denver at the SCSC! Not following There are four scenarios in these two matches: 1. Yotes win both. After that, we would be in a tie with Omaha that we would win because of the head-to-head record. (all of these scenarios assume these three teams win the other matches on their schedules). Result = 1st place 2. Yotes lose both. We would be in sole possession of 3rd. Likely wouldn't drop below that due to our lead over ORU. Result = 3rd place.3. Yotes beat Denver / lose to Omaha. With Denver also beating SDSU (assumed), we would again end up in a tie with Denver for 2nd, two matches back from first. We win the tie due to our one win over Omaha. Result = 2nd Place. 4. Yotes lose to Denver/ beat Omaha. With Denver and Omaha also beating SDSU, all three teams split matches, resulting in Omaha still one match ahead of a tied Denver and USD. Denver still wins the Head-to-head with USD. Result = 3rd Place.
So I was wrong about Denver winning all ties with the Yotes. If we beat them, we would have the upper hand in a tie due to our win over Omaha. BUT...... we still need to win both to get into first place. Now, if any of these three teams stumbles against another team, things would be different. Both Omaha and Denver play USD, SDSU, ORU and Kansas City in their final four matches. That's a tough run. USD plays NDSU and UND up north, so a lot less risk. So.... root for the Jacks, I guess?

Can anyone explain what the challenge was at what should have been the end of the fourth set? They called 4 hits on USD earlier in the play. Apparently when the DU player hit it at the net w/ Jurgens, it doesn't restart the possession? I don't get how it was 4 hits. Had to win the 4th set twice I guess.

Match day! This one is for the one-seed, hosting privileges, and a regular season championship (at least controlling their destiny for all of that)
