So it’s sounding like the reason the Jacks canceled their game yesterday was a medical emergency. No details made public yet that I know of. It sounds like it was a medical emergency of a family member of a player. This family member was in attendance when it happened. There isn’t any word of who or what happened but what ever it was it sounds like it is very serious.

With the non-con coming to end and the SL portion starting soon what’s everyone’s thoughts on the rest of the league?
Two teams that stand out the most to me are Western Illinois and Kansas City. KC’s ranked right up in there with USD and SDSU in the NET formula, not sure where Western is at, and they’re both receiving votes in the mid major poll that USD/SDSU are currently just inside of. I’m not sure of the quality of their schedules though. I think KC will be a tough opening to SL play on the road for USD and SDSU(who I think will drop the contest in a heart breaker).
The climb to the summit might be a little more crowded this year then years past.

She has really learned how to play her position like a veteran. And she will need to, as every team will be going after her to get her into foul trouble. I'll predict an enhanced level of whining and hatred towards Hannah from Jacks fans. And finally a POY nod for her. We need to develop our bench and get them more involved, though. I'll go with a homer prediction of 18-0 in conference play. SDSU: from the limited info I have, they seem to be missing Myah badly. They still have talent, and could potentially beat anyone in the conference on a good night. Their two starting freshman guards might still be a little green at times, though. I'll predict a #2 finish, but they will be upset a couple of times on the road. Maybe at KC, NDSU or WIU, but Omaha would also be interesting, as they play really good defense. 14-4 KC, NDSU, WIU: not sure what to make of them, as the KC and WIU schedules are weak, and I haven't been able to watch any of it. KC has a transfer player that is impressing folks, I think. Sorry, I haven't done my homework......

SDSU plays at Kansas City tonight at 6PM. Looks like there is a stream available from KC, too.
This will be very interesting, as KC only has one loss on the season, but has played a relatively weak non-con schedule. I think it's pretty safe to say they are an improved squad. Also, we will play them in two days, so will be nice to scout them.
I think they have two or three senior guards returning that can shoot the lights out (Alnatas), and they added size in the post with transfers. They could be a real pain in the ass.

Got to give KC credit. They were within 4 late in the game with SDSU. I fully expected SDSU to blow them out of the water.

Here's the other story, though: Freshman PG Paige Meyer and Myah Selland were the leading scorers for the Jacks.... She's BaAAack... stat | Meyer | Selland | minutes | 31* | 25 | FG% | 67% | 54% | 3PT% | 0% | 50% | FT% | 75% | 80% | REB | 7* | 6 | AST | 4* | 1 | TO | 2 | 3* | BLK | 0 | 0 | STL | 1 | 0 | PF | 3* | 3* | PTS | 22* | 19 |
* = team-leading stat Pretty good stat lines for a freshman PG that is still figuring things out, and Myah coming back from serious injuries.

NDSU is taking a big step backwards this year. They aren't anything close to where they were a year ago. After getting to the finals of the Summit tourney the Mavs are also not doing much so far but a nice win sort of.
