Went on a strange trip around the interwebs.
Average attendance figures so far:
1 Oral Roberts 3,675.0 2 North Dakota State 1,951.0 3 South Dakota State 1,850.0 4 North Dakota 1,276.0 5 South Dakota 1,212.0 6 St. Thomas 916.0 7 Western Illinois 852.0 8 Denver 787.0 9 Omaha 727.0 10 Kansas City 638.0
I'm not surprised by USD's low number - the non-conference schedule was not very interesting, and early season expectations were pretty low. It also seems that attendance in general is down, as has been discussed in other threads. ORU obviously got an attendance bounce coming off the Sweet 16. I was surprised SDSU's wasn't higher - I've heard some say this is the best team they have ever had (I don't buy that, but some think it), so I would expect a noticeable increase in attendance. Maybe some of our SDSU friends can comment.
It does seem like the mirror scheduling makes it harder to get fully invested for fans too.

Anyone want to put together a 10-member all-star Summit team? I don't watch enough non-Yote MBB games to have a good take on this. Just like the list in the women's thread, this is a team you would want to go win games in a national tournament. This is not a "career achievement award" or a "best player on each team award" like the all-conference lists seem to be at times... Who will win games for you? Make sure to have a balance of guards/forwards, just like a real team.

The Argus leader just did an entire story on the false premise of the Jacks being screwed out of a win by the “bad call” at the end of the game. Wow.

Remember it's Argus Loser from my USD days!!
Analysists said Wilson bumped him and got him on the arm which is what I saw. Big guy jumping out on a shooter isn't good. He shouldn't have even been close.

I didn't watch the game at all but let me guess...the refs totally screwed them the entire game. I need a laugh, so I'll have to read the story and see what Zimmer had to say. Even if they had won, which I was half expecting given the pregame hype which probably ended up hurting them in the long run by pissing off Providence, they would be complaining.

It was a foul. I thought it was a foul when I watched it live. I thought it was a foul after watching the replay. They didn't lose because of that. They lost because they played most of the first half completely tentative. Providence was basically a longer, more talented version of Kansas City. It took the Jacks a while to adjust to the difference in athleticism. They showed well though. No reason to hang their heads.

Oh my goodness. Unbelievable. They are such whiny babies (to put it in PG terms)! That type of contact on a shot like that gets called 90% of the time. Like others have said, that has to be called to avoid having bigs practically landing on shooters with a running start.
